Hi Alysse
Thanks for the review. I guess I'm suppose to know who you are, eh? Much obliged for the follow up after a year later. Meanwhile, you must be smoking some whistling good stuff to be talking without any clear idea of what you're sticking your nose in. Any further professional advice from a Pro like yourself would be greatly appreciated. Maybe a few of your troglodyte constituents and yourself would like to address this in a proper greeting?
real stationers
by alysse
I was really amazed by a couple of these items. Cottonwood has always been professional and upfront and I've been in the biz for many years and the review that spoke as a professional was anything but. They are the only real stationers in town with their own shop. Real letterpress or they can order custom from the major design houses. Very user friendly.
- Pros: Real stationers with their own shop, esp good if you are in a rush, real custom
- Cons: Small shops are not walmart, don't expect mass market and cheap prices.

I've been in the industry for 25+ years and I can give my unbiased opinion that this outfit is the worst group of hacks in the whole metro-Charlotte area. I've met everyone associated with this small business and it's with sad honesty when I say they are bat-loco on the wrong side of the tracks. At one time, the storefront manager was certifiable. She arrived straight from Dorothea Dix Mental Hospital. It takes the typesetter 2 weeks to a month to get a proof in the customers hands and back to the press department. So what you have at the end is procrastination and backlogs which end up as sorry looking jobs. All the employees get paid about once a month, so you have tons morale with an outspoken atheist owner who has no problem speaking about his beliefs and disbeliefs within the workplace. I hope you enjoy your experience with Cottonwood Papers.
- Cons: Hacks!
Added Stress

I'm glad to hear that the customer service has improved over the years. My experience with Cottonwood was not a good one. I will say the invitations are beautiful but the people that work there should have been are very unporofessional. My invitations and STD's did not arrive when promised and were first printed in the wrong color. Basically they would not accept responsibility and try to resolve the problem. I refuse to recommend their services to anyone unless they wanted added stress to planning a wedding.
- Cons: customer service

I used Cottonwood for my save the dates, wedding invitations, and thank you cards. They were able to design exactly what I had envisioned and the final product was beautiful! I highly recommend Cottonwood Fine Paper!
Just what I was looking for

Cottonwood Fine Papers is by far the best store for wedding invitations and save-the-dates in Charlotte. And I should know...I went to the other well-known stores in the area before finding Cottonwood. Unlike my experiences at other stores, shopping at Cottonwood was actually fun! They have beautiful samples to choose from but are also completely willing and able to create custom invitations from scratch. The work is beautiful and the staff is extremely helpful. You won't be ignored here like you will be at other stationary stores in town. They also have better hours, which is a big deal for busy brides. I wouldn't say they are cheap, but they are less expensive than comparable stationary stores, and you get your money's worth.
- Pros: Staff, Hours, Quality
