They serve flavorless and tough meat with crappy sides. I got ribs and chicken, both dry and the ribs were tough as hell. It seems like a good amount of food till u realize that much of it is inedible and not really worth eating. Everything is served mildly warm except the fries which were cold. The people that gave this place good reviews must eat dog food usually because really this place is horrible!

Service is also horrible. There are a total of 2 servers that can't keep up with a minimal number of customers. No one ever checked up on us, no refills, no napkins, no straws. The whole restaurant screams STICKY. It's dark, dingy, and ugly. Seriously a place that u should avoid.

I had the pork plate. The pork was really uninspiring with little taste to the meat. All the flavor was from the sauce. I prefer more smokey flavor to the meat so that I have to think twice about actually hiding the meat flavor with added sauce. In this case the sauce WAS the flavor. I guess the sauce is fine if you like loads of chili powder taste, but I only picked up flavors of chili powder and vinegar with little else. The food volume is good with the meat being accompanied by fries, puppies and slaw. My puppies were somewhat more burnt than I prefer. The slaw is OK but not a lot of distinctive flavor. The service was no problem, but I was there about 5 pm midweek. They don't serve alcohol so you can't wash the mediocre fare down with a cold beer. I can see why it is supposedly popular with families; the food volume is very good at a fairly low price, but I'll take quality over quantity any time and to me the quality was substandard compared to the many good BBQ places to pick from.

  • Pros: good food volume for the money
  • Cons: little taste to the pork, no beer, unremarkable side dishes, minimal decor not even suggestive of a BBQ jt.

Hello. I am not from the South and neither were my co-diners. I am from the North and they are from the Northwest Pacific. I have never had realy BBQ, but this was so good! Everyone loved it. It really was flavorful. The pulled pork was outstanding and the coleslaw was delicious. We will definitely go back when we are in town.

  • Pros: Food and Service
  • Cons: They close at 8 pm

I love this place. It is exceptional food and a place where you can take business associates, or simply relax with your kids. A wonderful choice.

  • Pros: Awesome Food and a great value
  • Cons: You will eat to much

The Scene
It's a little more upscale than your typical barbecue joint--it has carpeting, and the dark-green booths and walls actually match. "Country"-style knickknacks adorn the walls, and beer neons outline the bar. At lunch you'll see groups of business types, but dinner brings more families.

The Food
Heaping plates of beef or pork barbecue are the specialty of the house. Finely shredded pork and beef barbecue are most frequently ordered--sliced meat will cost you extra. It's hickory-smoked and pit-cooked, then topped with Carolina Country's own tomato-based sauce (also available for purchase by the bottle). Wings, salads, ribs, chicken and sandwiches round out the menu, and sides include sauteed onions, slaw, corn on the cob and killer hushpuppies.

This is a southern style barbecue joint and I have eaten there many times. If you are looking for hot, fresh, pork barbecue, then this is the place. The sauce is excellent with a weel balanced combination of spice and tang. I have not had bad service here, but I don't frequent barbecue joints for the white glove treatment. I go for the meat. Hushpuppies are sensational and the fries are great too. Last time I ate here they were too hot to touch--perfect if you ask me.

  • Pros: Authentic BBQ, Hushpuppies
  • Cons: kind of dark, can get smokey
