Awesome Food, Fast Service, Great Portion Size
by thuthu23 at Citysearch
I love this restaurant. The best Chinese Restaurant in Southpark! They are fast, and the food is fresh. I have never been disappointed when I go. At lunch, you should go at 11:30am when they open to make sure you find a seat. The staff is always friendly. I have tried a lot of dishes there and have enjoyed every single dish! Well worth the money too...
- Pros: Parking, Service
- Cons: Limited Seating
Always Consistent!

Baoding has always been a destination spot for our family. We know that we will be greeted with a smile and the food is so good! Prices reasonable.
- Pros: Always Great Food-Owners/staff so friendly!
- Cons: Parking
Good food and decor, please take away the smoking aspect so that all may enjoy!

Agree with montgomeryburns on almost all fronts!
Just want to add..... ask the management to make the restaurant non-smoking. We were enjoying our meal when two women showed up at the bar to drink and light up their cigs. The entire restaurant filled up with their smoke stench immediately. We asked for our remainders to-go, and took off.
A different pace for Chinese food

We weren't sure what to expect out of this place. Many of the reviews here talk about this as an upscale Chinese restaurant, or some sort of New Chinese cuisine or something. It's a beautiful place on the inside. As soon as you walk inside, you appreciate the dark atmosphere. The food was very good, and artfully presented, but is not a family-style restaurant the way a typical Chinese place is. If you don't really like the idea of passing plates around, then you'll like this place. Plates are sized for individual consumption. We had the hyped up vegetable dumplings and the soft-shelled crab, and the Hong-Kong-style sea bass, which is mostly true, but still somewhat of a departure from HK-style - it has less scallions, less soy sauce, and because this is individual sized, it's not truly HK style, because that would mean steaming a whole fish. And as for the "best Chinese in Charlotte"? It's good, but it isn't that good. Sure, it's better than some hole-in-the-wall carry out, but you can certainly find more authentic, high-quality Chinese elsewhere. Better description may be "best Chinese in its neighborhood".
- Pros: high quality food
- Cons: not family style
Best Chinese in Charlotte

Highly recommend all dishes we tried in several visits except the whole fish, which had a bit too much coating for us.
Best Chinese Food in Charlotte!

Baoding has the best healthy chinese food in Charlotte hands down! Dining at this restaurant is a family tradition and will continue to be for years.
- Pros: amazing food, service, and atmosphere
Serving upscale Chinese before upscale Chinese was cool.

In Short
For years this gem has sparkled in the Sharon Corners shopping center, its snappy black, plum and jade decor a promise of an extraordinary meal to come. The steamed veggie dumplings are a top pick, along with the soft-shell crabs with asparagus. Vegetarians find much to enjoy on the menu, as do fans of "traditional" Chinese cuisine. Hot and sour soup and Baoding scallops make a fine break from running errands.

It's not a place to go for an authentic chinese, but who really digs authentic chinese? Although they are super-crowded and it's a place to check out. Their dishes tend to be a bit dry and too sweet, atmosphere of the restaurant and presentation of the food kinda make up all the cons of this restaurant. Located across from the South Park mall, it's a place you want to take your non-chinese friends out for chinese food to impress them.
- Pros: atmosphere

The food was really greasy, even for Chinese food. I would recommend The Great Wall of China South, if you are looking for good authentic Chinese food.
- Pros: Good Atmosphere
- Cons: Greasy Food, Expensive
