Delicious

by CraigERator

I recently took my wife to the P F Changs on Phillips Place, we are new to the area and wanted chinese food. Thanks to 'urban spoon' and my nifty iPhone the decision was made instantaneously. The service and food here was exceptional, only advice is to make reservations for the weekend!!!

  • Pros: BEST KUNG POW!
  • Cons: long wait time

HORRIBLE FOOD,NEVER EVER EAT AT THIS PLACE!!

by ECOTRAVELER

If you wanna waste money and your time, then this place is absolutely appropriate.

Service was horrible and food quantity & quality both very poor with no taste at all.Dessert was overpriced ,and they were in display ,with no price tags on them.Once you get a check, then you'd realize the price of the dessert.

We ordered Five spiced Tofu & Buddhas Feast, and there were very few pieces of Tofu in it and all there was brocolli and sauce.

We've been to lot of Chinese restaurants, and this was the worst of all.

I'd never ever visit this place in my lifetime again.

  • Pros: NOTHING
  • Cons: VERY NOISY,VERY POOR SERVICE AND HORRIBLE FOOD

This gussied-up chain bustles with singles and families craving Chinese food favorites.

by Contributor

In Short
Towering twin stallions and carved wood screens add majesty and mystery to this stylish restaurant, where well-dressed patrons sip martinis at the bar and families with children feast around large tables or in spacious booths. The menu gives Chinese classics a contemporary tweak; dishes are artfully presented, with many sauces made tableside by servers. Signature plates include diced chicken wrapped in cool lettuce leaves, orange-peel beef with chili peppers, and wok-fried scallops with lemon sauce.

My experience at P.F Chang's has been wonderful! All you have to do is ask, and your every need is fulfilled. I enjoy P.F. Chang's very much and I recommend their cuisine to friends and relatives. Sorry for those who disagree.

Sincerely,

Infamous

I love every time i go to P.F. Changs. The soothing lettuce wraps are my personal favorite followed by the amazing Kung Pow Chicken. I would highly recommend this fine establishment!

Discrimination at its best!

by gapkid

I have been to PF Chang's numerous times in the Orlando area and had wonderful experiences. My experience at the Charlotte location was horrendous and discriminatory.

We arrived on a Fri evening around 6:30 pm and were pleased to find no line, nobody waiting to be seated, and see several tables still available. I advised the main hostess that we were a party of five, but that three of the five were children. We were getting ready to follow a hostess to a seat when the main hostess informed us that there would be a 45 minute wait. I thought she was joking at first and then when I realized she wasn?t, I reminded her that there was nobody in the waiting area but us. She unsympathetically said, ?We don?t have a table for five.? I asked her, ?Can?t you put two smaller tables together?? Her reply was, ?We don?t have any together.? Having seen MANY empty tables side-by-side through the window when we walked by the restaurant, I pointed them out to her. She shrugged her shoulders. Let me repeat that: SHE SHRUGGED HER SHOULDERS.

It soon became apparent that we were not welcome there, for whatever illogical reason. I was embarrassed. Not for me, not for us, but for P.F. Chang?s. I was embarrassed that they would have a hostess who makes $7 or so an hour deciding who gets seated and who doesn?t as if it?s an exclusive nightclub when, in reality, it?s a chain restaurant. Yes, a chain restaurant. It was obvious that there was nobody else waiting. It was obvious that there were tables available. It was obvious there were tables available that were side-by-side. It was obvious that there were already families in the restaurant. It was obvious that none of us are ?big? people, especially the children, so we all could have even have been seated at a four-top with an extra chair added. And, if it matters, it was obvious that we were not improperly dressed. Other restaurants in the Charlotte area are more deserving of your hard-earned money.

  • Pros: excellent atmosphere, tasty food, great wine selections
  • Cons: discriminatory, poor hostessing

PF Changs

by dmartmar

Best place to work at, bar none. Management is great, down to the lower echelons of the ladder, including food preparers and kitchen staff. We ALL WORK HARD and strive for providing YOU, our GUEST, with the best service AND Chinese food you've ever had in your life! If the server asks if "everything is ok" one too many times, it has nothing to to do with the quality of the food, but an offering of some of the best, if not the best service you've ever had at any restaurant, Chinese or not! Btw, the servers and everyone else working there are all there just trying to make a living, while strictly "following rules," so to speak, which means it is not their fault when they do things a certain way.

Then again, always remember that NO ONE can EVER PLEASE everyone! One "bad server" DOES NOT reflect upon the overall goal of the whole staff WORKING THERE FOR YOU, our GUEST! Not every server is good and not every server is bad.

Being a part of the back wait staff, I should know.

Good food... very commercial.

by arankagan

This is a well known, commercial restaurant with a wide array of asian infused items that is obviously mass prepared and served by the bulk. The food is good, but a bit over priced.

sorry Tara, but I see dead people

by chow10006

The prior reviewer is correct. The horse statue prominently displayed above IS a replica of a funerary object excavated from the Xian tombs.

Upscale mall Chinese sums it up well. Go if that's what you're comfortable with, but skip this if you actually know anything about real Chinese food.

Ok, the first review left in 2004 is a bit cruel. There are no Xian soldiers @ the PF Chang's in Charlotte. So this person must of been confused. Service is excellent, the staff is knowledgeable & very friendly. I've never ordered anything there that has not been pleasing. This place is great for families, and for singles as well. It is in a wonderful location and most of all, the food is great.

  • Pros: Awesome Service, Great Food, Fantastic Atmosphere
  • Cons: Very Busy 6-7PM
