We eat here every time we come back from a trip or go to the airport to pick someone up. It's great every time. I'm a 3rd generation devotee (my family has been coming for at least 50 years)! Everything is delicious- I usually order the teriyaki chicken because it's a "comfort food" for me, as I've been ordering it my whole life. You have to try the shrimp cocktail. The sauce is amazing! But have a buttered cracker on-hand, because water won't put out the fire! The location is definitely out of the way, but it's worth the trip!
Pros: Great food!
Cons: Location is off-the-beaten-path

I was traveling to Charlotte and was looking for a great Carolina dining experience. I wanted a great American steak house. I was not let down. I couldn't help having flashbacks of amazing places my family would stop into while on road trips across America. It's so southern; they even have real steer horns on the wall when you walk in. I loved it. The servers were so friendly and attentive. Other big chain restaurants could take a page out of their book on how to treat a customer. It was no surprise when Glenn, the owner, told us they have staff who've worked there for like 30 YEARS!!!! Ya gotta be doing SOMETHING right. In my opinion they did everything right. I thoroughly enjoyed by experience. Do NOT pass up this place. We left with a full belly AND more money in our wallet than if we went to many of the other guys.
Pros: The people and the entire menu would have me going back for something new weekly or more
Cons: I wish it could be duplicated so they can open one up where I live.

The Ranch House is definitely off the beaten path - but it is worth the hike (and the airplane noise!). It lives up to the idea of an old steak house with the dark interior and lots of steak options. We had the 22oz sirloin for 2 for $33 - it came with salad, potatoes, rolls and onion rings! The waitress was very attentive and the food was delicious! You really can't beat salad, steak, and drinks for 2 for under $50!

Great food and service. To start with, a must have is the shrimp cocktail - the horseradish sauce is wonderful! Another must have is the filet, best I've ever had. The cowboy steak is also another good choice. I would highly reccommend this restaurant!

The food and the sevice were above average. The filet mignon was a "melt in your mouth delite". The service was outstanding. Everything was hot and delicious. The Christmas tree as you enter the restaurant is astonishing. It will take your breath away. This restaurant is charming and highly recommended.

After the reviews I read, I expected at least a good dinner.... This is definitely a locals place, the waitress all but cringed whenever we spoke (really, our accents nearly as obnoxious as she would have us believe). For the prices, I expected far better than we received. The salads were as cheap as the bowls they were in. The steaks astonishingly tough for a "Steak House". However, the place was full, even for a late dinner. I'm guessing it's the best place for locals to meet up with friends, because it wasn't the food!
Pros: local crowd, convenient, good parking
Cons: over-priced, poor quality, not for tourists
