I thought this plac closed

by Anothermantolove

I thought this place was going out of business.Everyone i talked to in the hood had nothing good to say about the owner but i reluctantly went back in hoping maybe this business got it together but was very disappointed in how it had gone further down hill.

I was taken back by how filthy it was and after seeing a table with a thrift store price of $6 and the sales lady telling me she had to get $400 that was my final visit to this place and all the rumors i'm sure are not far from the truth

The only good thing that came out of this was seeing a new vintage shop opened next door and it's very hip and now and organized worlds better than Century

Dont see this place lasting much longer but buyers will feel more than welcome at the new vintage shop and the prices are in line with the market today I agree with Becky dont bother here

Further more i even emailed my friend back in July to do a report about this place

  • Pros: None
  • Cons: The same junk everytime

hammond organ got my attention

by vinyltap

Enjoyed listening to records on a vintage fisher price turntable. I was surprised that an old kids toy could actually sound pretty good. I have heard that they have pretty cool performances there sometimes. Glad I stopped in.

  • Pros: not a record store, but tasty selection of LPs
  • Cons: mostly furniture and clothes

helpful, friendly, wide variety of authentic vintage goods!

by purplemonkee

Swanky stuff but not stuffy or snobby. Prices on most of the furniture are not cheap, but neither is the merchandise. You do get what you pay for. I have never been to a shop that had a better selection of mid-century furniture in the southeast. On par with shops in New York and LA.

  • Pros: sci fi paperbacks for 1$
  • Cons: antique piano for 35000$ ( just outta my budget)

robsjohn-gibbings, paul frankl, lightolier, milo baughman!!!

by modernlover

Was in there yesterday. Eclectic quality merchandise, fun atmosphere, and a warm and friendly owner that has been there since before the turn of the century. Not a huge selection of clothing but there was a 1928 flapper dress to die for.

  • Pros: merchandise like you can buy on 1st Dibs for much less!
  • Cons: can not think of any

Good stuff

by chicagobearsfan

This is a good place to go for mid century modern furnishings of reasonable quality, not the imitation cheap stuff. They can be a little pricey but everyone negotiates these days. They also have some cool pieces of art for sale. Check it out.

In response to previous post the owner has been very nice to me every time and no, it's not squeaky clean. It's not a mall.

  • Pros: Eclectic mix of items
  • Cons: $$$

Dirty & Way Over Priced If You Want Dirt Go To Goodwill

by shakingmelon

What is up with this place?I went in last year and scored some way cool stuff for under $30 and now it's like a totally different place. It stinks of dog and looks like it never gets cleaned.Lady if you want $200 for a dress upscale that dump.It must have been a dealer in there with all the good reasonable stuff for sale.People dont waste your time at this place.I had to find a place to wash my hands after i left

  • Pros: I'll give it window display but it doesnt change often
  • Cons: nothing was priced when i asked owner was rude and shot off insane prices, filthy, not dealers in there anymore,no more bird necklaces,i could go on but it this place is no Hong Kong thats for sure
