Best meal in a long time!
by kb2009
300 East was a true delight! We ordered the chicken with goat cheese and the hanger steak. It was the best meal we have had in a long time. Service was impeccable!
- Pros: Awesome food
- Cons: None

My girlfriend and I celebrated our 6 month anniversary here. It was truly a special night. We were seated upstairs and waited on by a professional and friendly staff. Our food was pretty good but my girlfriend's salad was small for the price. I had the Shrimp BLT Panini. It was delecious but quite spicy. It made my lips burn! But that wasn't a problem for me. The problem was four hours later when I was hunched on the can, pale and shivering. One may ask, "Well how do you know it was the BLT?" Let me just say this... It burned me twice.
- Pros: Great ambience, good service
- Cons: explosive rhea
1/2 off wine night on Wednesdays AND Sundays can't be beat!

I have been going to 300 East for years. It is a great restaurant with an affordable menu, large portions, and great food. Their appetizers are to die for - baked marinated goat cheese, sweet potato ravioli, hummus plate...you have to try their drink of the house - The Matilda Wong! The servers are all very nice, but my favorite thing about this place is the newest addition of the tall, strapping, hunky, bearded waiter, Otis. This guy is a great waiter and is so handsome! My girlfriends and I like to go just to check him out and be served by him. YUM.
Anyway, if you are looking for the perfect restaurant for a romantic date, a night out with your friends, or even brunch with the fam, choose 300 East. You will NOT be disappointed...especially if you are in Otis's section! :)
- Pros: 1/2 off wine night, affordable, cheerful servers, outdoor dining, brunch
- Cons: No meals over 20 bucks...oh is that a con?
Love this place

Great food and nice ambiance... what more can I say but that we love this place, and not only because some of the menu items were our favorites in college. Great neighborhood...used to live in Dilworth...really miss it. The servers are always friendly, prompt with your food, and don't mind if you linger a while over your coffee at the end of the meal. We try to get to Charlotte often, and we always eat at 300 East.
- Pros: food and ambience
- Cons: can't think of any
Great for singles or couples...no families please!
by bobknows
Excellent food, wonderfully attentive staff, although there was a whiny child upstairs which pretty much ruined our entire visit because the place is so small and the sound carried horribly.
Great patio seating as well! Defenitely a favorite on our list of places to visit!
- Pros: Staff, food, patio, ambience
- Cons: too many children
Fresh, Flavorful Food, cooked with perfection!

Great food prepared just right, I'll be there for all my trips to Charlotte. What a great neighborhood reminiscent of Virginia Highlands in Atlanta. We were there for Easter Sunday, it was crowded, but we had superb customer service.
- Pros: Great location, quaint neighborhood
- Cons: Only in Charlotte
There's no shortage of funky restaurants in refurbished houses in Dilworth, but this one stands out.

The Scene
On any given night, you'll find tables of straight couples, gay couples, Myers Park couples, even a couple of tables filled with blue-haired ladies. The servers are adorned in all black, but don't carry that cooler-than-thou air, though many of them are.
The Food
Penne with duck and lobster has an unexpected kick; Mongolian lamb chops come with a fried banana roll that you may want again for dessert. Mustard-basted brisket is nothing like the stuff your grandmother used to make. And then there's the Matilda Wong, the drink so strong they only let you have two. The recipe is a secret--you could watch the bartender make it, but just the sight of all that liquor might make you tipsy.

We had brunch for the first time at 300 East on a Sunday. They were extremely busy, and I now understand why. Everything about the place was fabulous. All of the items on the menu sounded so good I couldn't make a decision on what to get, and the service was great. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back.
Nice Bistro

Been there many times and still loving it.
This place has all the European bistro flavors i was looking for.
I highly recommend the chicken sandwich for lunch and the steak for dinner.
Our server is always great and helpfull.
The patio during hot season is just amazing.
A "must try" !
- Pros: bistro ambience, food , service
- Cons: parking

You know, this looks like it would be a great place to eat. The neon.. the outside decor.. the patio. The staff was very friendly and attentive. But.. the booths seats are terribly stiff and hard (terrible for lounging for a long lunch!!!) The food is overpriced for what they serve... and nothing I have had in either of my two lunchtime visits was even remotely worth mentioning. If you go.. sit outside on the patio and just drink wine. I won't be returning.
- Pros: Outside Patio, Friendly Servers
- Cons: Terrible Food, Overpriced, Uncomfortable seating
