Fantastic Stay--these other negative reviewers must be CRAZY!
by NadineA at Citysearch
Hey, it's a MARRIOTT after all! The surroundings and furnishings were fantastic. The service--from the front desk to the late-night room service was superb. And the view of the Charlotte skyline from my room was breathtaking.
As a woman who frequently travels alone, I appreciate surroundings which are both fashionable and safe. I had no difficulty going to the lounge alone.
Love it, will return soon!
- Pros: EVERYTHING!
- Cons: NOTHING!
You are safe at the marriott

I would recomend going to the Hilton. You are not safe at this Mariott. Management will not help you with any issues relating to you safety. Check with Channel 36 for March 7 break in
- Pros: Can't think of any
- Cons: Marriott has not security
Excellent Hotel
by universalconcepts at Citysearch
I have many meetings here and the hotel is magnificent. The rooms are spacious and the staff wonderful.
Great location but nothing special
by cwsg35 at Citysearch
Recently checked in for a weekend visit to do some house hunting. The location is very central to everything downtown. A non-smoking room was not available so I was given a top floor corner room. The room was large but the bath was very small. No mini bar. The remainder of the hotel was very average. They should replace the sports bar with a more appealing eatery in keeping with the happening downtown.
- Pros: Location
- Cons: Restaurant
Contemporary efficiency meets Southern charm.

The Scene
This modern high-rise offers a combination of sleek style and regional charm. The vast lobby is clad in marble, and Cutter's Lounge (with its brown leather chairs) features over 75 premium cigars. Discovery Place, the Mint Museum of Crafts and Ericsson Stadium are within walking distance, and there's a Krispy Kreme and Starbucks right on the property.
The Details
With their mauve carpets and bedspreads, the guest rooms aren't as stylish as the public spaces, but there is a concierge level for those who want a little something extra. Accommodations are furnished with high-speed Internet access, voice mail and data ports. Savannah Red serves signature southern cuisine with a modern twist and an abundant choice of sauces--try the New South Shrimp and Grits or Porcini Crusted Angus Strip Steaks. Twenty-four-hour services include a business center and adequate health club.
No Room Service After 11pm
by debnyc10024 at Citysearch
Absolutely killed the hotel for me. How can you be a significant presence in the hotel scene in a city TRYING to be considered more savvy than it is AND NOT HAVE ROOM SERVICE AFTER 11PM????
- Cons: no room service after, e after 11pm.
