Fantastic and unique place

Emerson Joseph is quite a unique place that I really enjoyed. It was quite an experience to get a hair cut plus other services and treatments that I did not expect. I got my shoes shined and a beer while getting my haircut. It is well worth the trip to check this place out!

More than just a haircut

Was in Charlotte for a business trip and walked by Emerson Joseph. It reminded me of my usual place in New York City, so I went in to get a haircut. The place was cool, and the service even better. They have nice leather couches, a pool table and a plasma TV in the waiting area. I had a beer and watched football while I waited. The haircut was great and I actually hung out after my haircut to have another beer and catch the end of the game. The staff made me feel welcome and I never felt rushed to leave. You definitely get more than just a haircut at EJ. I'll definitely go back when I return to Charlotte.

Great Haircut, Nice Service, Fun Hangout

One of my friends has been going to Emerson Joseph for almost a year and he kept asking me to check it out. Finally I broke down and got a haircut. I am glad I did. I really liked my stylist. Her name was Brandi and she was fun to talk to, attractive, and she did a great job on my hair (and I am very picky). I also liked the environment. It was very cool but still comfortable. Sportscenter was on the TVs and we shot a game of pool. The card room in the basement was a real trip. We're getting a group of guys from work for a card a night of cards during Monday Night Football...my wife is thrilled there won't be any cigars in our dining room next week. All said, I highly recommend Emerson Joseph.

Avoid for haircut

The haircut I got was so uneven and she forgot to trim around my ears and taper my neckline. Eveyone was nice but sevice was not.

Great Place to Visit

My husband and I came in from Boston for the weekend. I was here on business, and he was here on pleasure. We were walking uptown and passed Emerson Joseph. He decided to treat himself to a little pampering. The staff was very welcoming to both of us. He got a haircut and a manicure. His hair looked better than it ever has, and he was excited to recieve his first manicure. Overall, the place was fantastic. When we come back to Charlotte, he will return to Emerson Joseph. I just wish Boston had one!

Worst Haricut ever.

Went to EJ for a haircut and that's exactly what I didn't get. The shoe shine, beer, and other stuff was nice, but it doesn't make up for the fact that I now look like Lloyd Christmas. It honestly looks like I attempted to cut my own hair blind folded. With all the other amenities, an average cut would've been adequate for me to return, but it might be the worst ever. A co-worker of mine had a similar experience and he looks borderline ridiculous. EJ is a cool place and has potential but if you get your hair-cut you'll get $5 dollar hair cut in a $50 package.

Spot On

WOW! Loved it all. Co-worker told me about this place and I had to visit. He was right. Great place, talented people, relaxing atmosphere, urban feel. Had the best cut I've ever had and a shoeshine and hand detail while the cut was happening. It was so fantastic I became a member!

I'll go again...

Unbelieveable. Back in the day I had to go to the barber, the spa, the salon, the pool hall, the bar, and then my living room to catch espn and the days' news. Now I stop by Emerson Joseph on my lunch break or on my way home from work, and do it all in one stop. It's like the Wal-Mart of men's grooming, only the owners are way more attractive, the line is shorter, and I don't get lost looking for stuff. This place is awesome. They do it all, and they do it all in style!

Best Haircut Ever!!!!

I was passing through Charlotte while on business and stopped in at Emerson-Joseph for a simple haircut and what I got was the best haircut ever. I didnt know that getting a haircut could be so much fun. I had a beer, played pool, and got my shoes shined all at Emerson-Joseph. There is no doubt that when Im in Charlotte I will go back to EJ for another haircut and maybe even try out a facial or massage next time.

This place is Money!

I checked out Emerson Joseph on the recommendation of Gary Williams...I religiously listen to The Page. Good stuff! Great haircut, great atmosphere, great staff. I felt right at home as soon as I walked through the door. This has become my spot.
