User Reviews for Ulta

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

I've been going to Ulta for about 2 1/2 years. Kathy does a fabulous job. I have long, thick hair and she knows exactly how to cut it and color it. She is a perfectionist, which is a wonderful trait for a hairstylist to have. I tell all my friends they should go there.

Ulta is the Ulta-mate chick store. Ulta carries a wide array of cosmetics for all budgets, from the college chick to the corporate banker chick. You can find Cover Girl, Maybelline, Physicians Formula, L'Oreal and Revlon on the left side of the store. The middle aisle contains higher-end selections like Elizabeth Arden, Vincent Long, Bare Escentuals, Lola and Studio Gear. None of those brands suit your taste? Ulta has their own line, and it's the first thing you see when you enter the store. The hair products tend more towards salon-quality products. This store sports a hair salon as well as waxing services, which is towards the back along with hair styling tools. I haven't used the hair salon, but do get my eyebrows waxed here. The right wall has a pretty good variety of fragrances, though the prices are the same as what you'll pay in department stores. The right front has body care products like shower gels, lotions and scrubs and exercise equipment and DVDs. The cosmetics prices are similar to what you'll pay elsewhere; however, Ulta frequently has promotions like buy one, get one free or buy one, get one 50% off. They also have the Ulta Club membership where shopping earns you free gifts every quarter or so -- these have come in handy for me because the items I get free are items I needed anyway (hence, ended up not having to buy). If you don't need any of the free items, it's a cheap way to get gifts for someone. The only thing I cannot get at this store is my favorite Christian Dior mascara.

Pros: Tons of variety; good service; excellent parking; consolidate your "girlie" shopping

Cons: This location is in Stonecrest - on Friday and Saturday nights you will have to dodge groups of wandering, chatty teenagers in the parking lot and on sidewalks
