Now this is good New York style pizza! The pizzas are HUGE, the toppings are loaded and the cheese is fresh. They also have yummy calzones and the garlic knots are to die for! Eat in or carry out.

I have been to Big Guys Pizza quite a few times and always have had my pizza done when they said it would be or within a few minutes of but then I tend to be earlier , most time pizza just coming out of oven and just need slicing . I never saw anything dropped on floor seems like a clean friendly pizza place to me,, its the only place I get pizza in mint hill now . I tried the rest and this is the best!
- Pros: great pizza , friendly people, clean restarant
- Cons: none
Message from the Owner
by bigguyspizza at Citysearch
Hello...Yes this is the actual owner of Big Guy's Pizza and no this is not a review. However, the things that people do write on here are of their own opinon and that is the whole purpose of reviews, but when something is wrong in a review I believe you have a right to stand up and say it is wrong. In a review on this site someone had posted waiting a long time for a pizza. That I can understand to be true...some days are extremely more busy then others and you never can tell what will happen, but never would something be used that had fallen on the floor before it was cleaned first, that I can promise. I just wanted to clearify. Everyone come in and give us a try and then you can decide for yourself what you think and please let us know while you are there. Have a great day!
Horrible Experience

I ordered a large cheese pizza for take out and was told it would be ready in 20-30 minutes. I arrived 20 minutes after placing my order. After waiting for over an hour I questioned the server who informed me that they forgot to make my pizza and I would have to wait even longer! While I continued to wait I observed a person in the kitchen (appeared to be a manager or the owner, drop a pizza pan floor and then proceed to use it to make a pizza without cleaning it. Disgusting!!
- Pros: The pizza tastes great
- Cons: The service and management is awful!
LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT!

From the first time I walked into Big Guy's I felt this was going to be a great place. Thankfully, I was right! In my 16 years in Charlotte, I can finally tell my friends & family back in NY that we have a GREAT pizza place. On top of that, Russell, Janet, Russell Jr. & Katie are truly nice people. Everytime I walk into the place, I feel comfortable and happy to be there. Their entire menu, but especially the pizza, is fantastic. A great place to grab a "slice", take the family for dinner or pick-up/have delivered in the comfort of your own home. Plus, this is the home of the largest pie I've seen in my life! You've got to see it to believe it.
All-in-all, it's 5-star pizza place with great meals, hero's and those delicious garlic knots
- Pros: Great food served by Great people!
- Cons: They're Yankees' fans. Let's Go Mets!!!

Best Authentic NY Pizza around
by thefew at Citysearch
I'm one of the many NY transplants here in the Charlotte area. For me as well as for many of you a weekend night is not complete without a good pizza pie. I've been here for over 10 years and have only been somewhat satisfied with some of the pizza I've tasted. First it was Fuel Pizza, then Mona Lisa (Indian Trail), now I've found the best. Big Guy's in Mint Hill is by far the best pizza around and the service is FANTASTIC. My wife and I were there a few weeks ago. We placed an order for a pizza and decided to wait in the store. The owner saw my wife was pregnant and brought us 4 garlic knotts and some dipping sauce while we waited at no charge. The decor could us some work (they have a weird 80's country theme going), but the food and service is outsanding. Oh and if you're really hungry they have a pizza that is over 2 feet in diameter and enough to fill the stomachs of at least 10 people.
- Pros: great food, great service, reasonable prices
- Cons: the decor could use some work
