Yummy home cooking
by itvinc
This is true southern comfort food at its best. The folks at Dish don't get too carried away with creative variations, they know a good thing. From the first time I sat in a booth and ordered the great sweet tea, I knew I'd found a new favorite place to eat. It's affordable, and portion sizes are fine. Everthing I've tried has been delish. Highly recommend.
Let's Dish about the Dish
by elonboy
I have been eating at the dish for years, and it gets better each time. I live in the area, and The Dish is the cherry on top. To reviewer who said the area is a little scarier...I must disagree. I have lived there for years and feel completely safe. Granted, it isn't South Charlotte, but that is what makes it great! Don't let that review deter you from coming to our quaint little neighborhood. It is definitely worth the visit!
Good comfort food, cool atmosphere
by montgomeryburns
My uncle used to live in the building back in the 1950s before it was a restaurant, so I thought I'd check it out. As the other reviews state, it's totally unpretentious. A good mix of clientele. The waitstaff were easygoing, and worked together as a team - whomever passed by our table would inquire as to whether we needed anything. A lot of the entrees come with a deviled egg and biscuit - pretty good, but not memorable. We had the quesadilla and the pork chop - very very reasonably priced and good sized portions. The place is separated into a smoking section in the back and a non-smoking part towards the entrance, but there wasn't a lot separating the two - expect to come out smelling like smoke. It's a cool place with pretty good food for a reasonable price.

Locally renown comfort food eatery impressed with a smart neo-soul menu and eclectic, yet unpretentious surroundings.
A great find!

Don't let the hole in the wall appearance of Dish scare you away! The food is excellent, and the service is great. Be prepared for huge portions. The quesadillas are great, and the burgers are massive. This is not the place to get a salad, so if you are on a diet stay far away! The location isnt in the greatest area of town, so be cautious.
- Pros: great food, good prices, casual dining
- Cons: not the cleanest setting
Got to try it to believe it!!! Awesome!!!

You walk up to the place and wonder what the heck you got yourself into. Then, you walk in and know you got into the best place ever. Excellent food, the best prices and wonderful service.
You will not believe the prices for the portions. If your not sure what to get, just sit for a few minutes and I swear you will see something you like walking by on a plate, yummy!
Try the tomato soup, the best I have ever tried..
The Best Value in Charlotte
by dpgarman
I found Dish about a year ago and it has become my regular go to place for really good comfort food in an eclectic environment. The food is consistently very good and at a very reasonable price. However, check out the daily specials for some unique items that you would not expect to see in a place like this. Also, if you like soups like I do, this place has some of the best homemade soup in Charlotte. The staff is knowledgable, fun and seem to enjoy what they do. Not the stiffs you find in Southpark who use snobbiness to hide poor service. Relax and enjoy!!!
Awesome place!

Very hole-in-the wall, but great atmosphere! Very laid back and comfortable! I've never been unsatisfied with the food either. The staff is not your average staff, but thats what makes this place unique and loveable. I highly recommend it! Great prices too!
