Good Vets but Newbies watch out. This was a very good small town Vet until they built the new building. Not sure what really happened but I had been with this Vet for about 7 years and and up until they renovated the place it was great. Following that event it has been nothing but tug and pull. I just can't take the uneccessary recommendations anymore. It is a very good thing I know what tests my animals need because if not I would be spending $500 or more per year at this Vet. Do your research prior to having tests done and see what is necessary and what is up-sale.

This past week I've brought 2 different pets in (dog for a check up and cat for spay) and the staff just isn't very friendly. I called again today to make an appointment for another pet to have his heart checked out, get a tooth pulled, etc, and it seemed like I was inconveniencing them. They weren't blatantly rude but I didn't feel exactly welcomed. So, if this was my first time bringing a pet in, I would almost definitely find somewhere else to go because I feel that the staff reflects the doctors and unfriendly staff equals unfriendly doctors. However, the sole reason I keep going back, despite the staff, is that Dr. Peurifoy is great. I have seen Dr. Weiss, Dr. Ashenbrenner, and a few others many, many times and Dr. Peurifoy is my favorite. Dr. Weiss and Dr. Ashenbrenner are very polite, however (although one said the heart condition on my dog was something to be alert about while the other said it's not a big deal. The first and second opinion about that was within a week of one another. So I didn't like that. And despite seeing Dr. Aschenbrenner many times, he never remembers I've seen him before.) Dr. Peurifoy saw us last minute one time and even though it was the end of the day and he was really busy he spent a lot of time looking through X-Rays. He was patient and polite answering all our questions. We've never minded which vet our pets saw until we saw just how awesome and dedicated he was to our dog and now we're only requesting him. So, if you want a great staff, go to Mt. Pleasant Vet, or if you want Dr. Peurifoy, sacrifice the great staff and go here.

Love this place!! Dr. Blake Peurifoy is the best. He has taken very good care of my dog Cooper. Cooper has allergies and for the first time ever we found a vet that helped us figure out a solution. Just recently, Cooper had a growth that had to be taken off. Never thought I would do surgery on one of my pets, but we did and Dr. Peurifoy did an awesome job removing it.

Dr. Blake Peurifoy is an AWESOME VET!!. I wanted to post my review because I think it is just as important to point out and add positive things about amazing people as opposed to only pointing out something bad due to maybe 1 bad experience, (Nobody's perfect, including ANYONE that finds it neccesary to write a Bad review!). Just take a moment and think about yourself and some mistakes that you have made in your life and how it may have hurt or affected someone else. Unless your God, Yes, nobody is perfect! Anyway, due to Dr. Blake Peurifoy, I have added 1 more Maltese to join my family! Someone literality dropped off this sweet, beautiful, 6 year old Maltese at the Humane Society. For at least 4 years, there has been a tumor growing inside of this dog's mouth. It even had teeth inside the tumor. They claimed she was starting to bleed to much and she was starting to look ugly. I'm not even going to write what I think about what these people did NOT do and should have for this innocent sweet baby to let this tumor get this bad, or what I even think of someone that would let something go for this long and get this bad, and then act as if it is her fault! Even 2 other vet's said that she should be put down. I was horrified to even hear 2 other vet's say that! I thought, aren't vet's supposed to save their life? Then we found Dr. Peurifoy @ Cabarrus Animal Hospital! Putting her down was NOT an option for him. It was a Tumor that had to be removed from inside her mouth and also removing half of her lower jaw because the tumor had been there for so long, her mouth had grown in an open position, therefore her jaw had to be broken. Dr. Peurifoy was VERY CONFIDENT and SKILLED enough that he took on the difficult task of performing this surgery. She not only came out of th surgery GREAT, she actually ate the same day as her surgery, and also, I was able to come and take her home the next day! You would never know that she had surgery! She was bright eyed and spunky! She even got up on her hind legs and looked out the window on the way home! When I first heard that half of her jaw had been removed, I couldn't even picture what she was going to look like, (Not that it mattered). When I saw her, she looked AMAZING! You can't even tell that she had surgery! When I met Dr. Peurifoy, he took his time explaining all the medications to me and all the precautions for me to take. He was very pleasant to talk to and made me feel confident and reassured me about how well her recovery would be. So far, it has been GREAT! If anyone needs surgery for their beloved pet, (Your Baby), Dr. Peurifoy is the MAN for the job! He's not only highly skilled, he's compassionate and truely cares about your pet as well as you the owner. Trust me, I've been to some non compassionate vet's, but this place is NOT one of them! I am with the Humane Society of Cabarrus County, and I would recommend Cabarrus Animal Hospital to EVERYONE! I would have rated higher, but 5 stars was all it allowed me to rate! Thank You Dr. Peurifoy for doing a beautiful job and for having the compassionate heart that a vet should have. I just can't Thank You Enough!

Awful customer service, Stafff trys to overcharge. This office provides a decent service but has the worst customer service. The front desk's staff never seems to have any communication between each other and the customers have to pay. I've been taking my doberman their for several months now to have his ears tapped and am told a different as to why it's not working each time by a different employee.

Stay Away and save yourself and pet the trouble

Good experience minus the front desk staff's attitudes. I have taken my dog here a few times and the first time I came in the receptionist were very rude and unfriendly. I had an appointment but I felt like I put them out by coming in. However I was very impressed by their competitive prices. I didn't feel at all pressured to do any testing or bloodwork that wasn't needed. This hospital is also VERY clean every time I have come by. The only thing that I'm not thrilled with is the attitude of the receptionists but as long as my pet continues to receive excellent care I guess I can overlook their attitudes.

If you love your pet do not use!. I have a Jack Russell puppy and the first time I took here there she got parvo. Of course the clinic denyed it. I took car of her myself and nursed her to health. I was chastized by the clinic for doing this and not spending the $1300+ that it would have taken to have her admitted there. I (for some stupid reason) took her back for shots and was told she has a skin condition and allergies($380) I was told they would get worse and all of her hair would fall out if i did not have her spayed right away. It some how relates to horomones? anyway she had the surgery. another $450. My dog was a completely different animal when she came home. She was in a constant state of terror and i could not calm her. 3 days after surgery she had an extreme fever and I was told to bring her back in for a post-op check. she had a severe infection, immagine that! the facility is under construction! ie..NOT CLEAN!!!! i was charged $120 more for the (should not charge) check up. Even human Dr.'s do not charge for this. The next day she was vomiting severly, I was again advised to bring her in. I asked if I would be charged again and was told well of course! WTF? It took 2 months before my lil puppy was over the trauma of being left in that place overnight! I will NEVER take her back.

Next story. 3 years ago my boyfriend took his Shi-tzu to them when she was first adopted. She had a growth on her eye that was very unsightly. She was to be put down but he rescued her. At that time she was diagnosed with an eye wart. He was told she is in no pain and would loose her sight if removed and possibly loose the eye. He opted with the Dr.s advise to not have the surgery. 3 years later she was taken to a different vet by his daughter. This poor little dog has ALWAYS had a seeping eye and a very very nasty smelly discharge from it. If not cleaned several times a day it is unbearable to even pet her. (keep in mind she was taken to the same vet for all her check ups and grooming) The 'new' vet had recognized right away that it was NOT a wart on her eye. He said it was very common in these pups to have these growths and that if she was properly diagnosed the first time that a simple eye drop would have taken care of it and that she would not have been living in pain. IN PAIN!!!! for 3 years!!!!! she would not have to loose her eye and would not have been in pain for 3 years! Now she will be undergoing a surgery (300x) the price now. and she will loose sight in her eye because the growth has taken over her cornea. She was put on a topical antibiotic and 2 days later the pain is gone and with the nasty smell. She is a new dog! happy and vibrant!. her surgery is next week...........................................

Ear Cropping. I had my doberman's ears cropped with Dr. Harroff and he did an exceptional job! Its been two weeks now and he's going back to get his sutures removed. They weren't too pricy like a lot of places around charlotte I had two estimates both around 600 to 800 dollars which is ridiculous! I paid 300 to get them cropped and I am pleased so far and they included antibiotics as well as the first taping for free. If you need your dogs ears clipped this is the place to go!

This clinic provides the best and most loving care. I will not take my pets anywhere else.. Cabarrus Amnimal Hospital is an exceptional vet clinic. Since I moved to Concord 2 years ago, I began to bring my pets there. They have talented and loving vets and support staff. I have every confidence in their knowlege and honesty. My lab became very sick a little over one year ago and was diagnosed with Addison's Disease. Under Dr. Peurifoy's loving and attentitive care, she continues to be a healthy loving lab. Jessie, my lab, gets so excited when she sees the building because she knows the attention and care she receives there. While she was under intensive care, she was given great attention and the staff was supportive of both myself and Jessie. They take the time to talk to me aobut what is going on with Jessie and my options for treatment. They are only interested in the best treatment for Jessie, not selling me on services or products. It means a lot to me that I know that Jessie and I have this level of care available to us.

Best Vet in NC. Dr. Dennis Orr at Cabarrus Animal Hospital is the best Dog and Cat Vet. in the state of NC. He is very well educated, and the most caring pet person I've ever had the privilage of knowing. I have been taking my pets to him for at least 17 years. When I operated a pet sitting business for 10 years I always recommended him to my clients, especially when it was evident that their vet. had misdiagnosed. He is the very best, has excellent contacts for specialists in every field, and operates professionally and with the deepest amount of care for both his pet clients and their owners. It is also worth noting that Ilene in the office area and assistant is, highly motivated and extremey proficient in her duties. She goes above and beyond with a compasionate heart of gold!
