Closed in 2007. Andersons was a famous Charlotte landmark. The family-owned restaurant closed in early 2007, much to the dismay of its longtime fans.
Great breakfast!. The food at Anderson's was great. We went for breakfast on a weekday, good omlet, excellent hasbrowns (you choose between shredded and cubed - all fresh) and decent biscuits. The servers are each unique and that's what made it so much fun. I'd rather go to Anderson's than IHOP anyday because the restaurant was friendly and charming (and they let me substitute the ham for bacon on the Western omlet)
The Anderson family has been providing breakfast, lunch, dinner, great pie and meeting space for more than 40 years..
The Scene
Every Friday morning, a who's who of Charlotte's power structure huddles over toast, eggs and coffee in this low-key diner. More deals are swung here than on any country club golf course, and politickers make it a regular stop during election time.
The Food
During the daytime, the regular folk stream in and out, feasting on continental comfort foods served by grizzled, grandmotherly waitresses. Then, after dark, the homemade pies come out. A slice of apple pie with a hefty ceramic mug of coffee is a fine way to finish off any day. If you've got the prelude to pie on your mind, the solid menu is mainly American comfort food, with splashes of Greek.
