Simple Elegance. How does one take an idea barely in its infancy and turn it into a work of beauty and elegance? This is the question I have been asking myself since I walked out of Paris Tattoos on Saturday, April 2nd. I walked in with an idea and a couple of pictures and came out 3 hours later with stage one mapped out on my body. The owner, Paris met with me and listened to my ideas and was very helpful in explaining to me the whys and why not’s of what would work and what wouldn’t. I gave him complete creative license explaining that I just wanted something feminine and elegant. Once the design was created, we begin to map it out on my body and what started as an idea of a very symmetrical back tattoo blossomed into a very sexy refined piece of art that starts at my thigh and swirls around to my upper back. Paris is an extremely professional person who takes the time to make sure that the details are perfect. His art is a true reflection of the man. I would recommend highly to anyone.

Astounding Work!!!. Best Tattoo Studio in Charlotte and Surrounding! I am so glad I found this studio...I have had previous tattoo work done by other talented artists in Charlotte, But Paris blows them away! I wish Paris could have done all of my work and now that I have had the privilege of being tattooed by Paris; I will not be going anywhere else. The studio is eclectic, quiet, and clean, with plenty of their own work on display. Paris and Alexandria are knowledgeable and professional. Alexandria does immaculate permanent make-up applications and I am completely hooked! I completely trust both of them and have never been disappointed at the work I have received at Paris Tattoos.

No Competition. After about a year of debating over if I should get what I had wanted for a tattoo, I finally gave in. My tattoo was going to be in a foreigh language so if any shape of any letter was done incorrectly the words would have ment nothing. So I wanted the best, to ensure that I wouldn't be marked with a meaningless tatto for a lifetime. I looked around for a while and wasn't happy with what I was finding, When my sister told about Paris Tattoos. It took about five minutes of looking at his portfolio to decide that there was a single artist in the south east I could find that could compete with his ability. Even if it was a three hour drive from home.

Walking into the studio is an experience in itself. Extremely proffesional but very comfortable. Paris and his wife Alexandria were two of the most welcoming people I have met. They put so much time and effort into making sure that they are giving me precisely what I wanted. They did just that and some. My expectations were by far exceeded.

Even after I got my tattoo they were very caring of how the product turned out and insisted that I follow their instructions so my new art work would heal properly. They even had me check in twice so they could make sure it wasn't infected and that he didn't miss anything the first time.

I know for a fact that the next tattoo I get and the one after that will be from Paris.

You will be amazed. Being relatively new to the Charlotte area, I needed to do some research to find an artist with enough talent to put a permanent mark on my body. Many hours of previewing portfolios on local studio websites left me relatively disappointed. my search slowed, until I read a piece in Creative Loafing about a tattoo artist, Paris Pierides, who relocated to Charlotte from halfway across the world in Cyprus.

Having had a few foreign friends growing up, I knew that was no easy feat , as you must be considered to be at the top of your field to be allowed to come to America and practice your profession. Sure enough, the article highlighted numerous awards won by Paris, including the "prestigious EB1 Award from the United States Government for Extraordinary Outstanding Artistic Ability."

I found that not only was his online portfolio showing some of the best quality in color and detail, but that Paris was a highly respected and well know figure in his field throughout the world.

I soon visited his studio at 1820 South Blvd. The atmosphere was open but warm, with deep colors and inviting furniture. The decor gave a feeling of an art gallery, and your rich friend's cool comfortable place in the city simultaneously. On the walls hung large photos of Paris's work, various articles from tattoo publications from around the world, and even an article from The Bangkok Times praising the studio he owned in Nicosia, Cyprus. Other notable decorations were the numerous trophies and awards from conventions including more than one "Best Tattoo of the Day" from the annual New York City Tattoo Convention. there was a sense of Paris's personal pride throughout the studio.

My idea was to give tribute to Jamaica, a place I fell in love with upon visiting a friend born and raised there. It would have a lot of color and detail and I know I could trust Paris to surpass my expectations.

I sent many pictures through email, of elements I wanted incorporated. We made an appointment to meet at the studio at 3:00 on a Wednesday to put the different elements together into a final design and placement. less than a week before the appointment, i needed to reschedule due to a class schedule conflict. I expected to be pushed back weeks, but instead, Paris and Alexandria were accommodating to my schedule and re-booked the appointment for the Monday before the original one, the only day of the week that the studio is actually closed.

During the tattooing, it was obvious the balance that Paris achieves between client comfort and concern, and the quality of his work. He did everything he could to keep the pain to a minimum, while frequently reminding me to relax and "stop squeezing" as this pushes the ink out. I'd like to say that I also tried my best to act as an ideal human canvas for his artwork.

The finished product blew me away! There was more vibrant color and rich detail than I could imagine possible, and this was even with the bruising underneath from my particularly sensitive skin. I have nothing but the best expectations for my tattoo once it is healed. And I will be sure to adhere to the healing instructions exactly, as they are set up for the best outcome concerning health and appearence of the final product.

Paris is a phenomenal man. He is a great conversationalist and storyteller while tattooing. He is very proud of what he has achieved and of his great skill. Don't mistake his pride for arrogance, you must understand that he has a higher expectation than his profession's previous reputation supports. He is truly an accomplished artist, and from what I have found in my research, I would actually consider him to be humble.

I am immensely looking forward to adding to the work Paris and I have started. I highly recommend Paris Tattoos to my own "tattoo enthusiast" friends and to anyone who may read this. Thank you Paris for a great experience and a great piece of art!

Become a Work of Art!. This is the story of how I met Paris Pierides and began turning my body into a work of art.

When I set out to get my most recent tattoo, I decided that I should do a bit more research to determine the best tattooists in the Charlotte area. I knew of some studios that had been around for the past decade or so, but before beginning my research I had never heard of "Paris Tattoos." Naturally, when "Paris Tattoos" showed up in my search results with a multitude of five star reviews, I was curious.

I've spent a lot of time looking through tattoo galleries, and I like to judge an artist by their observable abilities before I judge them by their written accomplishments. I'm someone that goes by my gut instinct, my first impression usually being the most reliable, and once again this has proven to be true. As I glanced through Paris' online gallery, it didn't take me long to decide that I must be looking at the artwork of someone incredibly talented, someone that I wanted to tattoo me. I quickly decided that I must know whose work I was looking at before I continued looking through his or her gallery, so I jumped over to the biography. Perhaps needless to say, I was pleased to discover that Paris Pierides is a world-renowned tattoo artist and winner of many tattooing awards. That said, let me attest to the fact that Paris' abilities far exceed his international recognition. When you meet him and see the work he does it becomes obvious that he is a true master of the art. Even though Charlotte is an ever-growing city, I am still amazed that it harbors such a talented artist. Charlotte is beyond fortunate to have a tattoo artist of Paris' caliber, and I have nothing but the highest praise to bestow upon him. It is an inexcusable shame that Charlotte has yet to give Paris the recognition that an artist of his talent deserves.

The quality of your experience at Paris Tattoos begins as soon as you step into the studio, or perhaps even before that if you call to schedule your appointment. Paris and his wife Alexandra are both incredibly polite and helpful when it comes to scheduling appointments and planning for your body art. I've never been in a tattoo or piercing studio like theirs; from the red leather sofas and pristine wooden floors to the tribal masks and original works of art that adorn the walls, the studio itself is nothing short of aesthetically astounding. Furthermore, the space is immaculately clean; there is certainly no question about hygiene in their studio. It is a work of art in and of itself, exuding the essence of quality and care that Paris and Alexandra apply to all of their work.

The experiences of making an appointment and visiting the studio, as wonderful as they may be, pale in comparison to the experience of actually working with Paris to complete your tattoo. He has exquisite insight when it comes to designing art that fits not only the contours of a person's body but also their personality. For him, your body is a unique canvas, and his goal is to turn you into a true work of art.

Two (and I am sure there are more) unique abilities that make Paris' work more credible than most: (1) He has a strong instinct that he is not afraid to follow and (2) he has many years of practice supporting his art. If you give Paris an idea and let him run with it, he will give it life! I feel honored to have been this artist's canvas. He transformed my original design into something bigger and better than I could have ever imagined. And since he tattooed me a week ago, I haven't been able to stop planning what work I want to have done next.

Wonderful Exsperience. Paris Tattoos I can't give enough praise. Paris is incredibly talented artist. He has great compassion for what he does, and oh does it show. He has started for me a very difficult cover up that I was told by other tattooist in the area was impossible to do. He spent an exstended amount of time telling me what was possible what was not possible with a cover up. He informed me exactly what to exspect artistically and medically. He then proceeded to hand draw this stunning piece. It's absolutley beautiful. Thank you Paris....

Best in Charlotte. When I saw that Charlotte was getting another tattoo shop, I thought "just what Charlotte needs - another tattoo shop"! However, after visiting Paris Tattoos and meeting Paris and seeing his work, I believe he is exactly what Charlotte needs - a tattoo ARTIST. I saw Paris work at the recent Inkfest Live show, (where he won Best Overall), and it was clear that all the other artists at the show hold Paris in the highest regard.

I thought I knew what my next tattoo was going to be and I had a shortlist of local artists who I trust do do a good job. After I visited Paris Tattoos and spoke to Paris, I realized that I was restricting myself to what I perceived as "available art". After talking with Paris I completely changed my mind on the piece I wanted, and knew for sure who I wanted to do it. I made an appointment a few days later and actually enjoyed the experience at his shop. I am absolutely blown away with my tattoo and I have received many compliments on it. I would highly recommend Paris to anybody who is considering a tattoo, and I know I'm looking forward to my next one!!
