Don't waste your time or money. This has been one of my "go-to" mani-pedi places over the last couple years, but no more. I always do a french manicure and color on the toes. The last time I came, the manicure was poorly done. This time both were poorly done. I thought my toes looked different, but didn't notice until pulling them out from under the dryer to spray them that there was a lot of excess polish on the skin by the nails of the big toes and they tried to create larger pinky toe nails where they don't actually exist. Worse, even with 2 coats of polish you could see through the polish to the nail below. They tried to fix the toe polish, but only by painting over the original and removing some of the excess polish. Thank goodness my eyes don't see as well these days. They look sloppy if you look at them within 2 feet. Now that I'm home and messed up a nail taking off my seatbelt, I notice that all 10 fingernails have very rough edges because they did not get filed smoothly. Sorry My Nails & Tan Salon, you don't get the opportunity for 3 strikes. You're out forever after two bad visits. Mani-Pedi's are supposed to be a feel-good experience.

VERY DIRTY & RUDE. I recently went to My Nails Spa in Stonecrest shopping center. I went because I had purchased a Juice in the City coupon. As I was waiting, I watched the nail technicians conduct pedicures. When they were finished the nail technicians didnt even clean out the tubs. Even after they asked to have a seat!!! Floors and nail tools were not cleaned afterwords.

Also, I asked for a kids pedicure and they insisted that it was $20.00 after I read the price list and doesn't even have kids pedicure listed... This place is a rip off... I recommend not going... There are plenty of other salons that do a much better job... Its no bargain... The nail technicians were nasty as well...

STAPH INFECTION!!. I've visited My Nail Spa several times and it's typical to receive rude and impersonal service. I continue to go anyway because they usually do a fair job. I visited on Saturday, January 20, 2007 for a French manicure and spa pedicure before my faculty ball at the Embassy Suites that evening. My nails looked fine, but about 4 days later I developed a very swollen, very sore right thumb. The pain progressed to untolerable and I visited the Urgent Care clinic on Poplar Tent Road in Concord, NC on Monday, January 30 since I teach at Cannon School right next door. After having taken 1,000mg of Ibuprofen each day of the weekend of the 26-28, I absolutely couldn't take it anymore. My thumb was the size of 3 thumbs and the pain was unbearable. The doctor at the Urgent Care clinic immediately numbed and drained my thumb with an 18 guage needle - it was full of pus! The doctor cultured the pus and put me on an antibiotic for staph. The staph culture came back positive! I was on antibiotics for 7 days and had to have my thumb drained twice. My entire cuticle fell off, and my thumb nail is currently dying. I'm visiting the same doctor a third time to have my nail and joint looked at again, because after 3 weeks, my thumb is still sore. Upon reading about staph, it turns out that certains strains of staph can be deadly if they enter your bloodstream. Strep and staph are rampant in low grade as well as "upscale" salons. Bacteria and fungus are extremely common among even pricy nail salons. It is typical that the people at My Nail Spa do not properly clean their instruments. My advice: DO NOT let a salon use a cuticle trimmer and do NOT let them use callus shavers. These tools open up your skin and make you more susceptible to infections! If salons do not use a tuburculocide (a fungicide/germicide/virucide with hospital grade strength) you're risking infection. Summary: a $45 manicure and pedicure have cost me $150 and incredible pain! Not worth it!!!

Very Rude!!. I live right down the street from My Nail Spa and was in a hurry and thought I would give it a try. The woman who did my nails was extremly rude and very rough. I was planning on getting a pedicure and realized I didn't have enough time so decided to just have her paint my nails instead, she gave me an extremly hard time about this because my feet were already soaking but BIG DEAL they were soaking in water for 2 minutes, I think I told her early enough in the service for her to be ok with me changing the service. For the rest of the time she was very rude and short with me and a couple days later i discovered a black spot on my toenail which is totally gross and means they were not clean. I will never go there ever again!
