Just had a wonderful "balayage" color treatment done by Kelly at Carmen Carmen! The results were beautiful! I wanted my color lightened and softened and it was delivered by using this great technique. The color grows out beautifully and I don't have to go back as often for touch-ups!

BEWARE Hold onto your hair girls....KELLY IS BACK FROM RALEIGH....do not ..dot NOT DO NOT DO NOT let her go near your hair for color...it will turn all colors of the rainbow and you will regret this for years.....my wife would love to go in there and shave hear hair off she is so pissed...ah, and thats going on a year now!!

Loyal Customer. I have been going here for about five years now and have always been very happy. I have used a number of beginner stylists for foil color. I have hair that tends to turn brassy with most color dyes, but one of the color specialists there found the perfect Aveda combination some years back. I recommend it.

Impressed. I have been going to Carmen Carmen Salon at Ballantyne since moving to Charlotte 5 years ago. I have never left unhappy and always enjoy my experience.

I have seen Cassie every time and she always does a great job! Every person I have encountered is always pleasant and the atmosphere is clean and modern.

My opinion is this- These people go through lots of training and are professionals. If you go in with an open mind and let them do what they think is best you will not be disappointed. If you want you hair cut the same way it's been done for 20 years, go to Super Cuts.

Most unprofessional salon ever!!. Worst customer service I have ever seen,I call them up for an appointment for a haircut and they say they are booked and after a few mins I get a call back saying they have one available and then they make me wait there for about 30 mins and tell me that the stylist is running late and they cannot accomodate me,they had plenty of time to give me a call but they decide to make me wait and then say they need to reschedule for another day,like I will ever go back!!!

Best Hair I've ever had!!!!. I went to Carmen Carmen Salon in Ballantyne last week. A neighbor of mine recommended that I go to Nathan for my cut and Kelly for my color.

I made my appointment and when I arrived, I was greeted by a friendly front desk. They knew that I was new client and they showed me around and made me comfortable.

I saw Kelly (the colorist ) first. My color was a mess before I saw her. I was a "bleachy" blonde and my roots always seemed to be showing. She took her time talking with me about what I wanted. We agreed to keep me blonde, but make it more natural. I absolutely love the color!!! My friends and neighbors thought I looked 10 years younger!!!

I then went to Nathan for my cut. My hair was a frizzy before he did his magic. Not only did he give me the best haircut I have ever had, he showed me how to style my hair at home.

I am a client for life!!! These stylists really know their trade. I walked out of the salon feeling like a million bucks. Thanks Carmen Carmen!!

Worth Every Penny. I was a little wary of Carmen Carmen after reading the decidedly mixed reviews on this site, but I made an appointment anyway. I called to book a full foil high light/low light, and i specifically asked for someone who was comfortable and confident using bleach to bring dark hair very light....since that was I wanted to do. I was sitting in Stephanie's chair within a week, much sooner than i expected to get an appointment. We talked about what I wanted, how blonde i could go, and what would look best with my skin. I told her I would trust her judgement, and she went for it. She was very friendly and chatted with me while she worked, and when I moved to a couch to let my color process, I received a hot stone foot soak...which was awesome and much-needed. The atmosphere is like that of any modern upscale salon...The "loft-chic" decor and pop-synth music gave the whole experience a young, hip vibe...which is what i want in my salon. If I wanted off-white tile and Aaron Neville croonign from the speakers, I would have gone to SuperCuts. The price for my services were no more expensive than I'm used to paying at smaller, less-experienced salons, and my hair came out a thousand times better at Carmen Carmen. I left feeling beautiful, and that feeling was worth the money.

The only strange thing was that my stylist left the salon after she set me up with my foot soak, and i was blown out by a young artist (who did a great job, and will be giving me a haircut sometime next week). I guess she was confident enough in her work that she didn't see the need to stick around for the big reveal, and since it looked great...i had no real room to complain. Five Stars!
