Haven't you caught on to the books-on-tape craze? The only store of its kind in Charlotte, Earful carries audiobooks for rent and sale, and specializes in unabridged. They carry between 8,000 and 9,000 titles and require a membership to rent, for which they charge a $10 annual fee. There is also a special program for members - for every 12 audios you rent, you get the 13th rental free. Members also recieve discounts on purchases, and may sell back used audios for store trade credit.

Items are priced for rental based on rental codes, but the average rental costs $5 or $6 for seven days. You have the option of renting a title for one, three, seven, fourteen or thirty days. The audios are available in both cassette and cd format, but fewer are available on cd, particularly the unabridged. So pick up the latest Grisham novel, kick back in your car with that morning cup of java, and you'll be at work before you know it.
