Favorite Chinese Restaurant!. Reading some of the other reviews shocked me! I have been going to Jo Jo's for at least a year. I have tried many other Chinese restaurants and this has to be one of the best! I usually get the shrimp fried rice that is NEVER greasy; the salt and pepper shrimp that is always perfect; and the sha sha seafood which is bursting with flavor! I always dine in and the service is great as well! Would definitely recommend... maybe skip the takeout and try dining in to see the difference.

Don't Waste Your Money!. My husband and I decided to try this restaurant after reading several good reviews. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. The food was positively vile. We ordered takeout or we would have sent every dish back to the kitchen. EVERYTHING was soaked in grease. The spring rolls shot grease out with every bite and tasted awful. The tangerine chicken was soggy and dripping with grease. The hot and sour soup had a layer of grease floating on the top and tasted spoiled. The shrimp fried rice was overloaded with onions, was greasy and the shrimp was so overcooked that they had turned to a pasty consistency. We paid an "upscale" amount of money for food that was practically inedible. We threw MOST of it away and what little we ate made us very sick! The only thing I would recommend about this restaurant is to stay away if you want to continue liking any type of Asian cuisine. My husband and I became so sick after eating this restaurant's food that we were unable to take it back to the restaurant to complain. The thought of eating any type of Asian food (by the way, we have always loved all types of Asian cuisine) makes us ill after this terrible experience.

The owner of local faves Wan Fu and Baoding gives the Chinese bistro race some hot and spicy competition.. The Scene
Walls are painted in a quirky yet soothing combination of eggplant, bright sage and mango. Artwork is subtle yet remarkable. Despite hardwood floors and a high ceiling, JoJo doesn't feel at all overwhelming. Extra-high padded booths keep down the noise level and provide a touch of privacy.

The Food
Dinner is less traditional than lunch, which offers a menu of familiar Chinese plates: Sesame chicken, fried rice, lo mein and so forth. On the expanded dinner menu you'll find additional "wild choices," including ostrich, curried lamb and crusted sesame alligator. The appetizers are enjoyable, from the pot stickers (whose sauce could be a tad tangier) to the chicken in lettuce wraps. For dessert, try some red bean ice cream or a slice of midnight layer chocolate cake.

Impressed. I was very happy with the service & food. I used to be a fan of PF Changs, but it's gone down hill. I used to eat frequently at Changs in Chicago, but the one here in Charlotte doesn't compare. Jo Jo is much better. The fried rice was very good.

Do takeout instead. I thought this place would be a substitute for other upscale Chinese "bistro" restaurants. The atmosphere is colorful, bordering on loud. They try to mix traditional Asian atmosphere with something that can best be described as nouveau Dick Tracy. The walls are painted in various loud colors, the lighting is modern. Cleanliness was a concern, as at our booth, there were food blotches on the walls and visible greasy handprints higher up the walls. Oh yeah, the food! It was average. Service was above average, however - friendly and fast.

Chinese for Dummies. "Chinese" only in the sense that they use soy sauce on everything, serve rice and offer dishes offered on every take out menu in the States. Not the real thing, bizarre items (ostrich, etc.) not withstanding.

Food is okay, decor lovely, service quiet and attentive.
