Best Romantic Spot in Charlotte!. I had to take a moment to post my first review... If you need a special place to take someone on a romantic date... Villa Antonio is it! My Husband & I had our wedding reception there. 30 of our closest family & friends in their private room. They did a great job to make it elegant and make us all feel special. Flowers to match our event decor, silver covers for the dishes they bring to each person, personalized menus, we wanted it simple... but they did it with elegance! They even played our favorite song we could dance to on their dance floor at the end of the night. Food was really good, service was great, it was a magical day.

Since then, we aleays go back to celebrate our anniversary there. They always remember us, make us feel special, bring out a special dessert... their desserts are awesome there by the way... and they even play our wedding song so we can dance again.

I actually hope to go there more often... it gives my husband and I a romantic night out - to remind us of a time before kids and just be us again. It's nice to find a unique restaurant in Charlotte with table clothes and fine dining... vs. all the chains you see all over the area.

If you need a special place... this is it!

They also have a great lunch buffet that I have been to... another plus!

The BEST Tiramisu EVER. I am a Tiramisu fan. I travel to all the Italian restaurants in big cities just to try their tiramisu. This is probably the 2nd best i have ever had in my life time. Normally is is served in a cake fashion, here it is seved in a gobblet, what an idea - something different than the rest. You can really taste the mascarpone cheese with a hint of kahula as a kicker. If you like Tiramisu this is the place to come.

Definately the Real Deal. Definately the real deal.... I am originally from Umbria, Italy. This is the best Italian food I have ever had in the states. From the Osso Bucco to the Tiramisu, I don’t think my grandmother could have made better. The live music is a nice touch also. A beautiful woman even asked me to dance. I will start brining my business clients in as well. Nice private dining rooms. I must try lunch next, I hear it is fantastic..

Now This is Italian. What a restaurant!!! I am from Providence, RI and know good Italian food. This is as close to Italy and your are going to get. I think even better than Italy. From the food to the service to the gentlemen who kissed my hand on the way in. This is how it should be done folks. They even cleaned my hands with a warm towel and fresh squeezed lemon. I had the banana foster tableside and how romantic. I encourage everyone to go here. It is defiantly worth it and will score some brownie points with the misses also. By the way they even have a dance floor and live music... Romance all the way!!!

Restaurant Week Serves Substandard Food. We have been going to Antonios for several years but the food and service are definitely going downhill. During Restaurant Week the scallops were stretched out by cutting them in half and wrapping them in bacon, where they usually are whole sea scallops. One half scallop they did not even bother to wrap. The white wine sauce was utterly tasteless where it had originally been lemony and delicious. The previous garlicky-spinach became plain cooked spinach. Big let down. Staff is now pushing hard on drinks, appetizers, desserts, bottled water, - anything to jack up the bill -- gets real annoying and obvious.

The level of service has deteriorated. Seems to be many unskilled helpers with lack of manners. Many servers reach across your face putting their elbows into you They crash into the back of your chair in passing, squeezing through, because Antonios has now stuffed more tables in - no one says excuse me/sorry. The polished server is now gone. I've had a waiter grab my plate while I was still eating; I've had a waiter reach across my plate to grab the bill and payment -- yes, they plop the bill down before you are even finished eating! Back to the food, the portions have shrunk, the consistency of cooking is gone - you never really can be sure what you are going to be served, but more often than not it is an off night for quality of food. I feel FIdel, one of the hosts, is the only one bringing class and manners to Antonios. The General Mgr is uncaring and rude, and he's the owner's son. Villa Antonios is in trouble. There is much better quality food and service in the Charlotte area in the same price range.
