BEST UNDERGROUND DEATH AND BLACK METAL CD STORE. I was looking for more Obscure Death Metal that you can not find at Best Buy. Great store, pretty big and huge Metal section also tons of Vinyl too. Not just metal but all types of music too.
Used to be cool, now a corporate nightmare.
This store used to be independently owned (by one guy),but it got bought by some big corporation (although they claim to still be indie, most of their other stores are in outlet malls).
Since then, their prices have gone up and their selection has gone down, unless you are looking for cheap novelty toys and not music. From now on I will support the real indie stores in Charlotte.
excellent service, i'm glad their in charlotte. since i came from Los Angeles, I was kind of spoiled with the little shops i took for granted. i finally came across a record store that allowed me to trade and walk out with credit to buy more stuff. Thank God for you guys. Highly recommended. So much better than the overpriced book stores and blockbusters and blahblahblah.
The state's largest record store..
The Skinny
With over 60,000 CDs, tapes, LPs and singles, Manifest is North Carolina's largest record store. The selection covers all genres, including a strong indie, import and local music collection.
Dig the Show, Man
Manifest distinguishes itself from other Charlotte record stores by sponsoring live acts that perform on the store's in-house stage. The folks who book the shows have a deep knowledge of the music scene, both locally and nationally, so the concerts have become a Charlotte showcase for promising up-and-comers.
Read and Listen
Manifest offers an excellent selection of music books and magazines. The store also hosts a community bulletin board listing musical gigs, instruments for sale and miscellaneous items.
