Since its 1952 debut in Memphis, Tenn., Holiday Inn has become one of the most recognized hotel brands in the world. Kids rule here: Children age 19 and younger stay for free when sharing a parent's room and as many as four children per family (age 12 or younger) eat for free at hotel restaurants. Other amenities include 24-hour business services, an in-room coffeemaker, iron, hair dryer, room service, a swimming pool and a fitness center.

Functional lodgings for business travelers and budget tourists.. The Scene
Within ten miles from this clean but nondescript-looking lodging, travelers will find Blumenthal Performing Arts, the Charlotte Convention Center, Independence Arena and the Carowinds Theme Park. A complimentary van service is offered from the Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

The Details
Each standard Clarion Class Business Room is tastefully decorated in dark shades of turquoise and burgundy. They are fully equipped for office-away-from-the-office use, and are complemented by Meeting Planner Suites, ideal for small conferences. Dining and entertainment include a sports bar and an outdoor party deck and cabana bar. The hotel is being upgraded throughout 2004. Accommodation is available in either pre- or post-renovation rooms; rooms will not be rented out on floors in the midst of renovation.
