To Taste it is To Love It!!. First of all the service is super fast and friendly, kinda like being home. The BBQ IS SUPER ,it has a perfect taste and then you add the sauce. I live in Gaston County, but will gladly drive back there. In my opinion it beats Sonny's hands down, Someone else says the sides come out of a can, well I want to know the brand name... I'm going back today, now that I think about it!!

You gotta go take the test!. The food was amazing, great portiona, terrific ice tea. Pulled pork was to die for. If you are looking for GREAT bbq for a reasonable price... go see Bubba. and you have to take the test to see if you are a REAL man!!!

Bubba, we need to talk.... Being from "da dirty south" (the ATL), the expectations of BBQ is very high, and i found at Bubba's "Eastern Styled" Carolina barbecue is something different. Not very impressed with the flavor of the meats and the sides came straight out a can. The good thing about Bubba's was service was very good and a clean dining area.

Enjoy Eastern-style North Carolina barbecue with the locals.. The Scene


Just minutes from the city, this place is about as "country" as you can get, with linoleum floors, wood-paneled walls, an acoustical tile ceiling and country music playing on a speaker. Parents share hushpuppies with their kids, professionals throw their ties over their shoulders. A guy in an apron comes out of the kitchen and tells you to "eat more."





The Food


It's authentic Eastern-style barbecue, hickory-smoked and slowly pit-cooked for 10 hours. The pulled pieces (no slices here, sorry) are juicy even without Bubba's famous vinegar-based sauce. Hushpuppies, slaw and other Southern sides make this a meal fit for even a Northerner.





Southern favorites round out the menu: fried chicken, meatloaf, chicken fingers, ribs and Brunswick stew. Get a combo plate if you must, but definitely don't miss the barbecue.

East is best!!!. Being from Eastern NC, this is one of the true treasures of Charlotte. If you have never had Eastern style BBQ, you don't know what you are missing. A "10" all the way. BTW if you are liken to Sonny's or Carolina Country, you probably better go there, this is a different world! (not that I am downing Sonny's or Carolina Country, but there is a HUGE difference in East vs. West!)

Big Bubba Rules!. We looked long and hard for a place to get some Southern BBQ, and Bubba's was the place to be. From the pig out front to the food inside, I think it is one of better BBQs in the South and it gets rave reviews.
