Tips for Parks Chevrolet

Just had a visit in reference of my car. I recieve above and beyond service from Marie Stegall. She really cares about the customer. This is the best display of customer service I have seen. Thanks Marie for the experience.

Dealership gives good service. I came in and wanted to deal with a manager only, he didn't keep me waiting long. Dominic was friendly, understanding, and was very upfront on what he could and couldn't do. Once I selected my car pricing was given very quickly and I bought. I did my research and the deal was fair. That's all I ask for in a relationship with a dealer. Congrats to Dominic and his team.

Why can't consumers take responsibility for their choices? I went to Parks to look at a Mercedes SUV with high miles but the price was right. The Manager let me take it for the day so I could have my mechanic look at it (that knows Mercedes) and he told me the maintenance it would need. Parks explained I was getting an As Is warranty and I could buy a warranty.

I own a business and I am so frustrated that consumers think that because they made a bad purchasing decision they can blame someone else.

If you don't want to pay for maintenance then buy a new car with a warranty.

Overall my experience with Parks was good. I saved money buying from a Chevrolet dealer vs a Mercedes dealer.

Buying a used car - Don't buy one here!

Bought a vehicle used, air did not work, dealer refused to offer any help or repair!

Quote from the owner - Sissy Parks: What do you expect when you buy a VW from a Chevrolet dealership?

Buyer beware!

Parks Buyers Beware!. Parks buyers & clients be aware! I have owned a vehicle “pre-owned” from the Parks at the Lake dealership for only three wks. I paid close to $38,000 on 2/20/12 for this SUV – cheap car? It started having significant trouble two weeks after the purchase. A local mechanic specializing in that type of SUV found problems, totaling over $2,900: 1. Right rear shocks leaking fluid, bushings saturated 2. Cam solenoid and left cam position sensors leaking (prevents oil from wicking up the main engine harness) 3. Power steering reservoir leaking fluid (leaks can cause steering pump to fail at any time) 4. Transmission service with filter past due 5. Dirty brake fluid and 6. Dirty engine filters 7. Front headlamp out. While test-driving the vehicle, the tire pressure alert came on. We asked them to have this fixed and they claimed they did. After getting the car home and the tire deflating two more times, our mech found a nail in the tire. I think Parks would have found this IF THEY HAD CHECKED THE TIRES LIKE WE ASKED. (Head lamp - same as #7). We had to replace it ourselves. When I followed up with Parks management, David Zeigler, I was told that my warranty that came with the car covered none of the above and that they were not responsible for any of the above before putting the car on the lot to sell. Zeigler also commented that “there are probably a lot of used cars on his lot that have repairs and leaks...I can’t pay the service department to fix these…we would lose too much money.” *Update* On 3/13/12, David offered my husband $400 towards the $3000 of repairs to "keep quiet" and even said that if he gave us that check, "he'd better not see any bad reviews of Parks out there." Is that more of a threat or an insult? I'm not sure. Also,to quote owner Sissy Parks’ email to my concerns that they sold me an unsafe SUV, “When we go over a pre-owned car for sale, we only look to make sure the vehicle is safe and it must pass a North Carolina state inspection. We do not completely refurbish the car…You bought a four year old vehicle with over 50,000 miles. It was priced accordingly. It is normal to see seepage at the seals in a vehicle of this age...you should have had it checked by an outside mechanic.” REALLY? You would think in the year 2012, buyers would not have to drive the car 20 miles to the nearest mechanic and pay for an inspection of a car they do not yet own - most dealers handle all problems themselves because they have a QUALIFIED SERVICE DEPT. And we were never allowed to take the car off the property by ourselves. The sales consultant insisted on riding with us. No wonder...I'd be a scared sales guy too, working there. Well, not only do they not take care of major repairs, they do not take care of minor ones, either, before putting them on the lot. And, these are significant leaks, NOT SEEPAGE. I was also handed a report from the service department through sales consultant, Greg Clayton, with the assurance that it had undergone a thorough inspection and refurbishment process. The defense that this is a four year old vehicle, and that I needed to buy another expensive warranty, in addition to the one that supposedly came with the car, and implying that it is too old for them to repair prior to my purchase, is insulting and a poor business practice. Shop somewhere that will back their cars for at least 30 days! Parks has no problem, morally or ethically, with selling you a $38,000 lemon. I would have to assume that the only way they stay in business is tricking all of us one-time clients. I cannot imagine that this was what the initial founder, Hubert Parks, intended for the future of his dealership. Sissy Parks’ and the Parks’ management way of handling modern-day customers should catch up with them!

Quick and Easy to deal with with!!. Their Internet Department was very helpful and easy to deal with. I chose a car off their website, they called me right away and answered all of my questions. I did not have to haggle price with the Sales staff. I came in and the car was ready for me and I purchased. There was no time wasted and I felt good about my purchase. I highly recommend using their Internet Department.

Never let them do auto body work on your car!!!. Whatever you do: Never ever let them do your auto body work. I went there after wrecking my German-made luxury sedan because my insurance company told me to go there to get a "quote". Once I got there, I got hoodwinked into letting them do the work (against my better judgement). When they were fixing my car, they continuously gave me expectations of when my car would be fixed, and never successfully met the deadlines, then after they finally completed the work, they put the front license plate on my car upside down, which I had to correct myself (because I was nice & didn't want to tell the idiots that they put the license plate on upside down) a month after the work was completed, the exact thing they fixed broke! Now 4 months later, a different issue that they fixed is broken! Yes, they will guarantee the lifetime work & fix the issue but who wants to keep going back to this place for a lifetime for them to fix what they should have fixed right in the first place!!! These people have the audacity to tell you that they can fix any type of autowork, but I wouldn't recommend them to a chevrolet driver, a foreign car driver, or my worst enemy!

Worst of the Worst!. So we made the mistake of buying the car from them. The salesman was soo unprofessional it was ridiculous. I mean it seemed like he knew nothing about the car. All he kept saying was " this is a great car". Ok anyone can say that. We made several appointments to meet and whenever we came they were always not ready and we waited forever for them. And when the time came to sign the paper work, he did not know any answers to our questions...He just kept calling other people.. The salesman need to really be educated prior to calling the costumers... Just really an unorganized dealership. They have a long way to go to improve their costumer service. I would never recommand this place to anyone...Unless it is necessary, You should find somewhere else to go.

They were so nice, I loved the service. I came to Parks Chevrolet on North Tryon Street a little afraid of all car dealers. Being a single women, I expected to be take advantage of and I was so surprised. From the moment I entered the showroom, I was treated with the utmost respect. They asked about my needs, and truely seemed concerned I get the right car. I love my new Cobalt. It is perfect. The fuel economy is great, and the price fit my budget. I would tell all my friends and family to go there. I have an appointment for an oil change and I expect the same experience in service.
