Editorial Review for Toscana – by Staci Falkowitz
The Scene
Nestled in the chic Specialty Shops on the Park, Toscana is a local gem. Venetian glass, baroque-style chandeliers, warm hues and a combination of wood- and marble-tile floors create an atmosphere that's elegant and easy. Service is impeccable and extremely attentive without being overbearing.
The Food
Traditional Northern Italian specialties grace the seasonal menu. The complimentary appetizer of chilled white beans marinated in olive oil and finely minced tomatoes and herbs--and served with crusty bread--gets things started. Order a bottle from the notable wine list, and sample the roasted pepper stuffed with prosciutto and creamy mozzarella. Among the pasta offerings, the spinach and ricotta pasta pillows, accented by a light mascarpone cream sauce, are not to be missed. A generous portion of veal scaloppini arrives with a crispy polenta cake and spinach. Save room fora homemade dessert, such as the perfectly light signature tiramisu.

I was very impressed with the menu. The waitstaff was knowlegable about the selections. slightly rude. We were with a small group, so I had a chance to view several idems on the menu. Very tasty! We will be back again.
Pros: great atmosphere
Cons: hidden from the road

I tried their 4 restaurants and this is the best. Coco and IlPosto you dine in the kitchen and they treat you like it unless you are lucky and it's a beautiful night and you can eat outside. The food is cavalier but not bad. The food at Toscana is very good. The wine is way over price and the waiter thinks he's the Pope himself and treat you with quite and attitude !!! In Charlotte we don't have much to choose from so we have to do with it I guess. I just wish they will realise we are in Charlotte not New York and put their price in accordance until we reach the status of NYC.
Pros: outside terrace, easy parking
Cons: price of wine, attitude of waiter,
