Owner is a racist..Look at other comments judge for yourself

AVEDA BRYAN don’t be fooled they took our money happily until they found out we were a couple. Racist know how to cover it up to make their money. I dare you say I don’t know when I’m being discriminated against growing up as a African American person in America for 25 years believe me unfortunally I know......I usually never write an bad comment on a restaurant but this had to be said. I use to be a repeat customer. I ordered take out from Shanghi at least once every two weeks. It is right around the corner from my house and the food was decent. I ordered there for months after moving into the neighborhood and either my boyfriend or I would go to pick up the food but never went in at the same time. So a few weeks ago my boyfriend and I finally had time to go in and dine in the restaurant as soon as we came in the door I could tell there was something wrong by the way the staff stared at us but did not come to sit us. We waited about 5 min to be seated and they reluctantly sat us to dine. We waited 15 min before the server came to speak to us when she only had two other tables that already had their food. We waved to us twice and she purposely ignored us both times. We knew why we were getting this treatment it was all over the servers face when she came to our table. My boyfriend is Korean and I am black. She would not look at or address me in any way during our visit. We asked for our check twice she ignored us both times. After waiting for the check for 20 min while the server cleaned the tables we finally walked up to he front and told the host what we had so he could ring us up. We were both really disturbed. Thinking it was only the server that had this disposition we spoke to the owner/ host. My boyfriend asked him ?in a calm and collected manner if we had done something to offend the waitress because she was refusing to serve us?. The owner replied ? She doesn?t work on your clock. And if we don?t like it we should not come here anymore.? I told my boyfriend this type of ignorance is not worth getting upset about and we left. I will never step in that restaurant again. I don?t understand people like that and I will not give them business either.

Chinatown right in the neighborhood !

Please disregard any negative racial comments made in the other reviews . They are crazy . The family is so kind , and accommodating . I have been in there with black people , white people , Asian people , lol , and always polite . Everyone has a bad day . What is most important is how amazing the food is . I have been to Chinatown in DC , and NYC , and this restaurant is the only place that compares . It is not over priced , and pretentious like PF Changs , and in my opinion the food is better ! I always get the sweet , and sour chicken . It has pineapples , and cherries the way it should to be considered authentic . The owners are amazing people . I had a tonsillectomy two years ago ,and could not get out of bed . They prepared every soup on there menu , and had it ready for a friend of mine to pick up for me . On the house ! That is how loyal they are to there customers . You will also find they have the best wine collection in town ...
