Editorial Review for Coach's Sports Bar & Grill – by Brian Matthews

The Scene
Like Las Vegas, there's a certain lack of authenticity, but it's overcome by execution. The food, the atmosphere and the booze all come together for a unique Carolina sporting experience. Like most of Pineville, Coach's has a congenial, family friendly atmosphere.

The Draw
With so many TV screens around, you'll have no trouble finding the game you want to watch--TVs are everywhere, even inside the big bar at the center of the room. One adjacent room has a giant screen TV, pool tables and video games. Another room has pool tables and dartboards.

I LOVE COACH'S! I visit this local bar 5 out of 7 days a week!!! The bartenders are on point! Torrie ( one of the bartenders ) is awesome! When friends and I walk in, we are greeted with smiles and best of all... cold beers! They know what we like. I promise that after your first visit they will know who you are. All Coach's fans can agree that after they changed owners, things turned around for the better! Thankyou Coach's for giving the us a great place to hang out and drink the coldest of cold beers! Went to watch the Ohio State/Texas game this past Saturday, undoubtedly the biggest game of the weekend, if not the entire season. Had to watch on a small screen until the 2nd quarter, the manager (or whoever he was) refused to change the big screen. At the start of the 3rd quarter, while the game was on, the live band came on. Hello??!!! I thought this was a sports bar...you know, like where you go to watch sports. The band was amazingly loud, the waitress couldn't even hear us over them when we tried to order. Made talking to friends and fellow fans impossible. Really just a disappointing experience. Will definitely choose another sports bar to watch the rest of the games. I should have gotten the hint when I walked in at 8pm on a Saturday and the place was about empty.

Pros: Good parking, Inexpensive, Plenty of seating

Cons: Sports not important, Blah food, live band during game
