Make sure that you know what services
that you want and are paying for. The stylist took advantage of my teen by persuading her to let her blowdry her hair and then charged her $40 rather than the $14 quoted to her earlier. Big difference for a trim and then "Styling" straight long hair. She and I complained to the manager. Let the buyer beware!
Famous Hair in Ladson on College Park, Goose Creek SC.
I went in for a haircut, I was new to the area and I asked for the manager (to ensure I'd get a good cut). I was shocked to see how loud and rude she was, she was bragging about how she scores free vicodin and hydrocodone from her customers and friends. I was looking around and the stylists (who were more professional that she was). She had the most gruff and obnoxiously loud voice. HOW DID SHE GET INTO MANAGEMENT??? Who's hiring these managers? She was rude and told me what I needed instead of listening to what I wanted and then continued to babble on about her life and how great she is. She wouldn't listen to what I wanted; I figure if I'm paying for it, DO IT! IF I ever go back there, I'd get anyone except her! Her name was Margret or something, she has the most unprofessional attitude and appearance (T-shirt and TIGHT capris) which did not compliment her body type, I was at a loss...the bragging about her life...WHAT ABOUT MY HAIR!
Needless to say, my hair was too short and she wouldn't shut up long enough to let me talk, I felt bad for the other stylist, because I can tell she micromanages and butts into everyones business.
She even told a waiting customer the (very) personal business and her opinion of another stylist that wasn't there. I called back later and talked to another stylist and asked for the corporate office's phone number, the stylist remembered me from earlier that day and said that Margret is always like that and that she would be leaving soon because she can't deal with it, I felt bad for her, she was such a professional.
Shame on Famous Hair for not training management to be competent.
Very Skilled Hair Stylist..
I have used 2 hair stylist , but will not give names because appointments will be hard for me if too many people discover them! I have thin hair and both people helped me with that problem. I was introduced to highlights and low lights. With the new color and new stacked cut ,my hair now looks as thick as 20 years ago. I do not think there is a bad stylist at this salon. Every person I see that walks out looks great and does not look disappointed. The place is professional and clean.
Only go if you already know a stylist.
I'm new in town & was looking for a stylist who was able to simply follow the cut that my previous stylist had given me. I had been to a H.Cuttery in Raleigh in the past & liked it, so I tried this one. I got a stylist who took 2 personal calls while I was in her chair, and did not cut my hair correctly. When I asked her to texturize my hair the way my other stylist used to, it was obvious by her reaction that she did not have any interest in how I wanted my hair cut, or in using any technique used after 1985. Newcomers beware, only go to this salon if someone recommends a specific stylist to you. As a walk-in, you really take your chances.
