we love this place!. All the servers are great, but Matt is most awesome! Fernando is a great compliment to all the awesome managers, and the food is consistently great. We love it so much, it has become the new standard for restaurants, and few others add up!
Best Crab Legs in Town!.
WOW, every time we go to the Palm it just gets better and better.
I always have the filet, I always promise myself I'm going to try something new, but I can't help it. That 14oz slice of heaven just calls my name. Cooked to perfection every single time!
The crab legs are unbelievable. I don't know where they find crabs this big. Not even in the same ballpark as any seafood joint in town.
Great service, great ambiance, overall an awesome experience every time.
Great Happy Hour Specials, Perfect Ambiance, See & Be Seen.
Yesterday was the first time I have been to the Palm location in Charlotte and it was a great overall experience. Tucked away in a quiet corner of Phillips Place it has a nice secluded location.
We opted to have a casual few drinks and their bar menu during happy hour (mon-fri 5-7;9-close) and were pleasantly surprised by the value for a high end establishment. The new bar menu has 6 or 7 bar menu items with everything from cured meat and cheese plate to prime beef sliders, mini crab cakes, panko crusted chicken tenders, lobster sliders and more. The price for all of these are $3.50.
I opted for the mini crab cakes and panko crusted chicken tenders. Both were amazing. The crab cakes had plenty of crab meat in them and although there were three small portions, it was enough for the price. It was accompanied by a nice mango/pineapple and jalepeno compote which added a nice touch. The chicken tenders were really good, they were lightly covered in Panko and fried, but did not have a greasy taste to them surprisingly; it came with a nice chili bbq sauce. With all of these bar plates they come with a handful of their homemade waffle potato chips which are phenomenal.
Drinks are what you'd expect at a high end restaurant, but with inexpensive food it all evens out. The service was great, our server, Eric, didn't have any attitude with us just getting a couple bar menu items and a few drinks and was more than accommodating.
Having such a great experience during happy hour, definitely will make me stop in for a full dinner soon.
Over-priced, average quality. rushed atmosphere. Steak was tender, but not much flavor. Lobster bisque had no taste of lobster in it, just too many spices. Over-priced ($160 for 2) for the quality (average). Atmosphere not relaxing - staff made you feel like they were hurrying you along so they could get someone else in. Many other finer restaurants in the South Park area. The Palm was simply disappointing.
Good Food but Waaay overated!. Okay my date took me for my B-day and they were running that $30.00 menu around town so we went here. The place isn't as big as it looks(small) and it can get loud. We had seats near the door which wasn't to bad the ambiance was really nice and the food was fantastic, service was good to but to be honest when I got a look at the menu and heard about this place I felt it's quite OVERATED!! Don't get me wrong it's a nice restaurant but not an OUTSTANDING restaurant and for what they charge it should be.
Upscale steakhouse rewards high-profile patrons by immortalizing their likenesses in colorful caricatures..
In Short
With its Italian-tinged menu and playful artwork on the walls, this national chain (which got its start in 1926) maintains a congenial atmosphere even as corporate patrons use company credit cards to pay for 36-ounce New York strips or jumbo lobsters. Sitting in dark wood chairs placed at tables topped in white linen, suit-jacketed gents and ladies sup on prime steaks, chops and hearty portions of classic Old World dishes like spaghettini marinara and veal piccata.
Will not go back..
Very disappointed in this restaurant. I went on a Saturday night with my wife and family. Our server offered us bottle or "tap" water while we waited to order our drinks. My salad was full of browned greens that no one from the kitchen staff seemed to have noticed. Three entrees arrived at the same time while the fourth came about 5 minutes later. My porterhouse had the smallest tenderloin on it that I have ever encounted in a decent steak house. It was also medium-well when I had ordered medium-rare. All of the lobsters we ordered were overcooked. We had to fill our own wine glasses (which I don't mind, but then again why are we paying nearly 3x retail for the wine?). The only decent part of the meal was the chocolate creme brulee.
I know I am extremely picky, but I feel I can be when I am spending nearly $600 for four people to eat.
Not Impressed.. I was very disappointed in this resturant. I felt it was over rated and over priced. The atmosphere was loud and dark. Service was okay but the food was not at all good. I will not return and would not recommend it.
Great service, great food, nice atmosphere. While steaks are the specialty, seafood has improved as well. My second favorite steakhouse in Charlotte (Sullivans tops my list), this is a great place to go with friends. It can get really loud in the main dining room when crowded, due to hard floors and ceilings, but this adds to the party atmosphere if that attracts you. The staff is friendly, and will get to know you after just a few visits. Nice to have a place that the staff feels like old friends when you visit.
simply the best. Simply the best in Charlotte and I have experienced most of them. The food is heavenly.
