I like the wings and friendly local atmosphere. I have been going there since I have lived in the area (over 10 years) and always enjoyed the Moose. The food is good (especially the specials) and it has a friendly atmosphere. Its good for the family place during the day and an adult hang out at night. The thing I like is the staff has belligerent people leave so you can enjoy a beer with your friends without having to worry about encountering with idiots or someone who is looking for a fight. It always has that everyones welcome hang out atmosphere. I like the wings.
Bring the kids, take the grown-ups somewhere else.
The Moosehead is a true Charlotte classic with comfy, casual digs, inventive drinks, and great bar food ... all at reasonable prices.
But do not be mistaken -- it IS a family restaurant. Children are welcome and fawned upon. If you're looking for a place to let your hair down and party like a grown-up, you may well find yourself next to a table of feral toddlers bombarding you and yours with slimy Cheerios. We have been mortified on two seperate occasions by bringing out of town guests -- then finding ourselves seated next to a wailing high chair quintet.
So, got kids? Lots of 'em? Want to take then somewhere really cool? The Moosehead is all about you.
As for my friends and I, we prefer the company of other adults. And we can afford to tip well when our server is not constantly preoccupied with mopping up mac-and-cheese spitup at the next table.
You go, families ... treat your sippie-cup crowd to the endless delights of the Moose.
If you are kid-free, or at least have the sense to hire a sitter on occasion, don't come here looking for a getaway. There are plenty of other venues that offer great food and drink as well as a live music scene.
Fast great lunch with loads of sarcasm.. The person below me is really sad. The dark confines of his office have never allowed him to experience the true essence of Moosehead Grill. There is probably nothing that he and the Business complaint group could possibly do to fix that. But his memory is extraordinary..which is somewhat comical in-itself. Estrogen in males is problematic when confrontation occurs. Errrr all I am saying is are you that bored?....or is your superior not watching you while your on the clock. Everyone else that comes in really enjoys my confusion. They may even leave with a smile and not a tear. That I am kinda sorry for. But I truly enjoy my regulars and banter is god-sent to me. Other corporate restaurants will tend to you properly. I will have a vote on how to respond to your complaint to the Business complaint group. Yours truly..that guy.
Worst Service Ever. I visited this place with co-workers for lunch on 1/23/07. One of my co-workers spilled his drink and the owner came over and said "Way to go F***ing Einstein! Its OK to be clumsy as long as you're smart." After finishing our meal we hung out for a bit he kicked us out along with another table because we were there to long (not even an hour). He asked us if we had jobs "Oh, I forgot you guys are salaried". It wasn't like there was a line of customers waiting to get in at 12:45. I don't know why this place is even open for lunch. The owner obviously doesn't value the customers or making money!
Great place. The atmosphere is very casual and chill. The service is also very casual. That is the only downfall to this place. They dont have much of a sense of urgency when it comes to getting you drinks, menus, refills, etc. There is one waitress that I always get stuck with. She obviously doesnt want to be working, and it exudes off of her. That stinks, but the food is GREAT. Get the blackened wings. Or cheeseburger. Delish.
Classic neighborhood establishment serves up burgers, beer and banter..
This long-time favorite among Charlotteans is located in an old Pizza Hut. Outside, it isn't much to look at; inside, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The place teems with regulars, the jukebox blares and beer flows from multiple taps. Service--just like the setting--is casual and friendly.
The menu features fresh, high-quality bar fare along with a few reasonably priced, creative specials. Chicken wings are among the best in town, and include fiery honey and habanero "bee stings" as well as spicy, island-flavored Jamaican jerk wings. Fried cheese--mozzarella or pepper jack--is hand-breaded into large triangles. Pepper jack is the better choice, as mozzarella arrives with a bland tomato sauce. A generous serving of clam chowder is thick, creamy, rich and flavorful. Another standout is the signature Moosehead burger--a fat, juicy creation topped with smoky bacon, grilled mushrooms, and Swiss cheese.
if you're hungry and you're thirsty. moosehead may not have an extensive menu, but you will always be satisfied with their banging wings and juicy hamburgers. and they aren't stingy with their liquor drinks... if you're hungry or just plain craving an ice cold blue moon, moosehead is the place
Steak & Potato Burrito!!!!. Excellent hangout, and excellent food. When you go, ask for J.B. and his Acme Pale Ale. He is the person responsible for showing me this place. My favorite item has got to be the Steak & Potato Burrito, but everything I have had there is great!
Best wings.. This place is one of my top 2 wings spots ever. The blackend and bee-stings are killer. You also gotta try the fried cheese!!
