Great place to go for a great tasting Guinness with an atmosphere to match it. No smoking has helped Sir Eds dramatically. Great pub food

Low Key, Eerily Uncrowded During Lunch. Had lunch at the newly reopened Sir Ed's in the Park Rd. shopping center this week and it really didn't seem like anything had changed since before they closed down. I did notice they changed out the ceiling tiles and did some minor updates on the interior finishes, but the same old feel remained.

As far as the menu, the lunch specials are second to none for their price. They have two price points, 8 and 10 bucks. Both are including tax and you get a meal plus a drink. They have a wide range of items from Sandwiches/Burgers to Traditional Irish/European fare. I decided to go with the Buffalo Chicken Wrap with Jicama slaw and a side of Fries. The Wrap was the same as before, and has good flavor. The fries are steak fries, which are rare to see in restaurants these days, so it was enjoyable.

The service was good, probably because we were the only people in there. Just has an overall strange feeling like you are hanging out in a friend's basement in high school, only this is a bit more strange.

Always 2 thumbs up!. I have been dining here for a few years and the food is always amazing. Lunch or dinner! Once in awhile you get shady service but all in all it is one of my favorites. I will always recommend Sir Ed's.

My absolute favorite place in Charlotte. This is in my 'hood so the location suits me just fine. However, I love their food and I am a very picky eater. The best thing to get is the Jerk Chicken Nachos. Yum. I literally get them every time I'm there. This is a place to go when you want to get out, have a drink or bite to eat and just relax. No pretentious or "in-crowd" types; just those who know how great it is. Anytime someone new moves to the area or I have out of town guests, I always take them to Sir Ed's. Affordability is an added bonus too-both food & alcohol.

Great reviews sold me.....ended up being very accurate. I must admit, I've lived near SEH's for over 5 months now and I was really hesitant to try it. I've heard mixed reviews (even though i mostly read all good ones). Also, I'm a non-smoker and being in a basement, I figured this was a smoke trap. That all changed with the new smoking laws.....So I finally decided to try it as I really like local spots, especial pub's (the irish in me).

We were recommended the Jamaican Jerk Chicken Nachos as a starter by the waiter, which we tried. Def a great recommendation, the chips were really unique not to mention the jerk sauce and chicken. I had the French Dip Sandwich, that came on a some really good Grilled bread...really thick, great for dipping.

Others in my group had Fish n chips, Cheeseburger, and Broccoli Parmasan sandwich. Everyone liked their food...I wasn't a complete fan of the Broc Parm with so many other good menu options available (i'd go with something else personally).

Overally, really a great local spot for a dark, dim meal and a tall Guinness. Next time i would like to go a little later to test more of the bar/pub scene. I also def need to try out their Stew.....

Cheers!. A few years ago a family member steered me to this small cozy pub in the heart of Charlotte. In a town filled with corporate steakhouses and impersonal chain restaurants, a nice old style city pub is a pleasant change of pace. Often misconstrued as an English restaurant , the menu is quite diverse with influences ranging from Latin, Asian , Mediterranean and even Eastern European cultures! As a frequent regular, I am treated as family. A case of nepotism? I think not. Even new faces are treated with such candor. The waitstaff's knowledge of the cuisine is impeccable, and the bartenders will be quick to pour you a "perfect" pint of Guiness or one of the other ever changing drafts. As a native "yankee" , I often bring out of town relatives and friends to my favorite watering hole. They have never been unsatisfied! A beer savant and gourmand lost in a city of bud light and chicken tenders, I always know I can duck into this charming establishment for good food, great beer and stimulating conversation!

If Cheers was a real place this would be it!!!. Wow, The menu at Sir Ed's is a fine piece of work. They have a little bit of everything. The bar food as well as entree's is amazing. The servers are nice and friendly, a bit slow from time to time but never leave you hanging. Bartenders are always there.

Tried to scam us stay away or pay cash.. Very lazy service. One guy even asked us to go inside and find some menus....we were eating outside. But the worst part, a week later I checked my credit card. and me and the other 2 guys I were with all got charged about $10 more each than we had originally paid. Bad service is one thing, but thieving service is a whole other level.

I rate this a "stay away"
