The Scene
It's tucked in the back of the Park Road Shopping Center, and you'll probably have to ask directions the first time. Dark wood paneling, British beers on tap and a regulation dartboard make it authentic, even if the server's Southern accent gives it away. Go to the back room to find the jukebox, darts and tables with built-in checkers and backgammon.
The Food
Think hearty and warm. Burgers and sandwiches are large enough for two meals, served with slaw that strikes a good balance between mayo and vinegar. Fish and chips--the ultimate pub fare--is moist and tender, with just a hint of doughiness in the batter crust. A real standout is the flourless chocolate cake, an island of chocolate decadence on a sea of fruit coulis and berries, accompanied by vanilla ice cream.

Fantastic menu - from sandwiches to entrees. Terrific wine selection and many beers on tap. Service is friendly and fast. Best staff in Charlotte anywhere. Great place to meet friends, old and new.

A few years ago a family member steered me to this small cozy pub in the heart of Charlotte. In a town filled with corporate steakhouses and impersonal chain restaurants, a nice old style city pub is a pleasant change of pace. Often misconstrued as an English restaurant , the menu is quite diverse with influences ranging from Latin, Asian , Mediterranean and even Eastern European cultures! As a frequent regular, I am treated as family. A case of nepotism? I think not. Even new faces are treated with such candor. The waitstaff's knowledge of the cuisine is impeccable, and the bartenders will be quick to pour you a "perfect" pint of Guiness or one of the other ever changing drafts. As a native "yankee" , I often bring out of town relatives and friends to my favorite watering hole. They have never been unsatisfied! A beer savant and gourmand lost in a city of bud light and chicken tenders, I always know I can duck into this charming establishment for good food, great beer and stimulating conversation!

Wow, The menu at Sir Ed's is a fine piece of work. They have a little bit of everything. The bar food as well as entree's is amazing. The servers are nice and friendly, a bit slow from time to time but never leave you hanging. Bartenders are always there.
