In Short – Four bars, two dance floors, an outdoor patio, an old-style saloon and the best light system in town have earned Scorpio the reputation as Charlotte's premier gay bar. The music here is as diverse as the clientele--from techno and rave to funky house and country-western. Scorpio also hosts two drag shows a week. Although the crowd is predominantly gay men, it's ethnically mixed and sprinkled with straight folks wanting to avoid the pickup scene.

I had never been to a Gay club before, and after some careful consideration, I decided to call up my gay friend and ask if I could join his group for one of their rendezvous's. I have to say that my experience was AWESOME!! Surprisingly, not too many guys made passes at me as much as I had originally anticipated(even though I am an anomaly, since I'm good looking AND Asian). Overall, I would definitely recommend this to any open-minded straight guy. Scorpio's ftw.

Look Good:
Use some fashion sense when dressing for your visit, but be casual, as you'll be sweating up a storm from the mob scene on the dance floor.
Where to Sit:
Relax on the outdoor patio, or entertain yourself with the Technicolor movies and nonsensical cartoons shown on video monitors. Head upstairs to cool out in the mellow lounge, or kick up your heels in the rustic saloon.
