WORST VENUE IN CHARLOTTE. Worst venue in Charlotte. We heard, but did not SEE Tommy Emmanuel at the Neighborhood theater, last night. The reason we did not see him is that the only seats available at 6:30 (1 hour prior to the concert), were seats off in another room . The wall had been removed between the Auditorium and the other room, but the room had no slant to the floor. So if you weren't in the first or second row you could not see the stage! We paid $60, a month in advance, to Not See a performance!. What a rip off!

And the bar staff (right behind us) were shouting at each other thru the few quiet parts of the show.

Lotus and the stonehenge band's aftermath. Wow. I'm speechless. Sober and soaking in every moment of both bands in their entirity. One recomendation for the Tentacles: knock down the sound of the drums so the flute and electric guitar can be heard in their entirity. Wife of flute/singer man: Nice work, Sweetheart. Your smiling face when you exited the tour bus before your on-stage entrace warmed my soul as I was chilling outside with an American Cigarette.

coool!!!. i like the fact that you can see the bands and not have to listen to those who came to talk. the split room works great. real theatre seating and a good sound system. well it is a review of a live music venue, so thats is whats important, right!

A relaxed and acoustically sound venue for checking out all varieties of music in NoDa.. The Scene
The Neighborhood Theatre resides in a funky old building that originally housed a movie theater in 1945. It sits right in the middle of Charlotte's grooviest arts community, the North Davidson Street Arts District, or NoDa, which boasts a variety of trendy art galleries, shops and restaurants.

The Draw
From blues and folk to world music, all sorts of sounds grace the stage of the Neighborhood Theatre. It seats 300, has great acoustics and doesn't contain a bad seat in the house. Hang out before a concert in the large side stage area--another venue for art exhibits or plays. The Neighborhood Theatre has its own liquor license, so you can grab a beer at intermission and even bring it back to your seat for the rest of the concert. Remember, relaxed is the keyword here.

Real Uptown!. Since becoming completely smoke free, this is by far the best place in town for listening to music. The acoustics are unbelievable! The crowds are well behaved and considerate, and the staff is courteous and helpful.

The shows that we have seen have all been enjoyable, although we would enjoy more Bluegrass.
