The Scene – Tucked into a renovated warehouse that accentuates its Charlotte history, Pike's entices visitors with a comfortable combination of nostalgia and home cooking. The old Pike's Rexall Pharmacy sign hangs on the wall, and antique pharmacy bottles and display cases are prominently featured. A word to the wise: this is a happening place, especially at lunch. Don't even think about asking to be seated if your entire lunch party hasn't arrived yet. – – The Food – Best bets include the grilled pimiento cheese sandwich, chicken salad, and "double" burgers. whether its their awesome Sunday brunch (go early!)- business lunch (always great daily specials) or dinner (3 words- honey pecan chicken) or just for a black cow or piece of red velvet cake- this is one of the best and consistent places to eat in all of Charlotte. Something on the menu for everyone.
- Pros: something on the menu for everyone
- Cons: can be busy at peak times
Old fashioned, feel good dining

Pikes is in South End across the street from the light rail by Tremont Street in an old warehouse. The menu is pretty simple burgers, sandwiches and a few home cooked "feeling" daily specials. But the main thing that they are known for is milkshakes and hand crafted beverages.
Every time I have been to Pikes the dining room is quite cramped, especially if it is busy. But it is worth a stop to have some decent food, good deserts and a shake.
Also, fun fact for this place is that part of Shallow Hal was filmed here with Jack Black and Gwenyth Paltrow.
- Pros: Friendly atmosphere, milkshakes and specialty drinks
- Cons: Tight dining
Pike's losing it's edge

I've gone to Pike's for years now, they used to have the BEST Cupcakes, hands down that I'd ever had and ya honestly, I went for the cupcakes knowing the food was usually tasty and service good. Today? no way. Cupcakes are tiny, the service was poor and the food lacking. Maybe a bad day for Pike's, but really downsizing on a cupcake? The wait service never even came to check on our food till we were done eating and I definitely wanted some sauce. The few staff who were outside were so busy with their tables that I could not get anyone attention to go find my waitress. Its crazy. 17 dollars and not a happy meal to show for it. Maybe light rail has made them too accessible and they have forgotten their roots.
Back to basics folks. Service and FOOD thats your Problem, a long line? Too many customers? thats ours.
good luck in the future. Hope ya get it back together.
- Pros: Nice seating
- Cons: Service and food
