WORST FOOD, TERRIBLE SERVICE. It was recommended by friends so we decided to have breakfast there yesterday, since we walked in the place the hostess was de rudest, didn't say a word except for how many? and she had the longest face ever, then we order the food to the waitress, as part of the order we had an orange juice and the first thing she said was the juice is $3 like we didn't have the money to cover that, I ordered eggs over easy with well done home fries and Country ham, what I got was, hard eggs, the home fries were just old burned greasy pieces of potatoes hard as a rock and the country ham was so hard and steal that it did cut the inside of my mouth, when we left, the so called hostess, took our credit card, gave us the receipt with no pen didn't say a word again and turn her back on us, my husband signed the receipt and he had to tear it from the machine himself because she wouldn't turn back to us, she was not Spanish by the way, you might think she didn't speak the language because of that, she was just plain rude. We won't come back ever, worst yet recommend it to anybody!
Best Diner Around.
As a prelude to my own review of the restaurant, and in response to the previous review:
Given that more than a quarter million people in NC have concealed carry permits (slightly over 15,000 in Mecklenburg county alone), many of whom are from sleeply little areas like Mint Hill, Weddington, etc, perhaps the employee's decision to carry has more to do with a personal decison to be able to protect himself and his family regardless of location and less to do with where the restaurant lies.
Regardless, I have to say that I just recently discovered their moussaka and spanakopita, which is the very best I've ever had - anywhere. If you're going for breakfast, the Challah bread french toast is fantastic.
Big portions, good prices, and a friendly staff - there's a reason this restaurant has been around for years. Try it - you won't be disappointed!
man at restaurant carries a conceled gun at counter. a man dressed in black carries a concealed weapon who appears to work behind the counter at the landmark. makes you wonder what kind of neihgbor you are eating in that makes a diner have a gun while available while you are eating your meal, makes you want to eat somewhere else.
Two waitress working together. My family has been eating at Landmark for years but Friday night we went in and I was waited on by Christina she told us what she loved the most about the food so we let her pick our food , Christina always smiles she was great and another girl Racheal was great too. You should have seen them working together helping one another we were greeted with smiles they made us laugh our food was great and our glasses were never empty. They made us feel like we were the only people in the place. If you go and eat ask for these girls by name you will have great service. and a couple of laughs. Great job ladies we will be back, if I ever open up and diner I'm coming to take you ladies to work for me. Everyone should be like these two.
GOOD FOOD, BAD SERVICE, HIGH PRICES. AS SOON AS YOU WALK IN YOU CAN TELL THAT THE MANAGERS DO NOT KNOW HOW TO RUN THE DINER. EMPTY TABLES AND CUSTOMERS WAITING TO BE SEATED. STAY AWAY FROM THE OLD INDIAN'S SECTION. HE WILL TELL YOU OVER AND OVER THAT HE WILL BE BACK IN "ONE SEC" BUT IT IS MORE LIKE 5 MIN. THE RUDE LATINOS ARE NOT MUCH BETTER, UNLESS YOU ARE A WOMAN. THE STAFF ALWAYS SEEMS TOO BUSY. THE FOOD IS GOOD BUT NOT WORTH THE HASSLE.
Bad Service. When we first sat down at the table the waiter was not friendly. It took forever just to place our orders. Then we sat for along time to get the food. One time we looked across the restaurant and the waiter was sitting and talking to someone and we told him we were waiting on the check. Once we got it the waiter put his tip on the check and it was only three people at the table. So when we went to the front to pay the the food we ask the lady about the tip on the check. She said the waiter had the option to put it on the check and she had a nasty attitude about it also. So I was NEVER come back!
Excellent food / Terrible part of town. I went to eat there with a friend of mine late at night one night, and I didn't expect the food to be as good as it was. I can't wait to eat there again. I just wish I didn't have to go to the ghetto to get there.
Now Famous!!!. Diners, Drive-in's and Dives from the Food Network was at Landmark shooting a segment for an upcoming show. This is a wondeerful thing for such a great establishment. My family and I have been going to Landmark for years and have always been pleased with the food and service. The family owned business is one of a kind here in Charlotte and these guys do a wonderful job! The prices are reasonable and tasty! The dessert case filed with all teh goodies is enough to send you to Heaven!!! Congrats guys for a job well done!!!
MY neighborhood restaurant..... My wife and I eat at Landmark on average 2-3 times a week. We are always there on Saturday night after church with some pals from our choir. I know most of the servers and staff by name and feel like family when I walk in the door. Great food, decent price... Everyone has a bad day, but I have never left Landmark unhappy....
