NEVER AGAIN. HORRIBLE experience. I went with a group of coworkers for a birthday celebration after work and bought ONE drink. Before I left, the incompetent waitress charged my card not only what I owed for my drink, but she also included everyone else's bill. YEP, that means I was charged over $200 for a $4 drink. When I confronted the waitress to address her mistake, she rudely tole me to hold on because she was busy doing something else. Then, when I showed her my bill she snatched it out of my hand as if it were my mistake and just walked off. The manager had to get involved and tried to pacify me by asking what she could do to make me feel better. She tried to console me by rubbing my arm (PLEASE don't touch me) and then offered me a $25 gift card (like I'll EVER return to this joke of an establishment). Here's the kicker: she said the money would be debited back to my card...IN FOUR DAYS and couldn't seem to understand why I was still mad. I need my money back NOW ma'am. I don't want to be pacified; I want your incompetent employee's mistake corrected.

This was my first and DEFINITELY LAST experience with this place. NEVER, EVER AGAIN.

Thomas Street the Place to Beat. Great atmosphere, love hanging inside or out side. Visited one night during a hail storm and the place still served us outside, lite a nice pit fire for us and everything! Love this place! Pool table, great drinks, good service, and more.

best hangout in Charlotte. I have been going to Thomas Street for years because it 's consistent on so many levels. The food is always good, they always have cheap beer specials, and you almost always find a good mix of friendly people. I have always found the staff to be friendly as well. In addition, you have the options of watching sports, playing foosball, playing pool, ping pong, corn-hole or socializing on the huge outdoor patio (also has a front outside patio). If you looking for a laid back spot I recommend checking it out.

DISHONEST EMPLOYEES. I was there on Saturday afternoon, Labor day weekend... The food was greasy...I dropped my cell phone as I was leaving...I realized this as soon as I got the the Labor Day party I was attending with a friend in SC...we called and were assured that my phone was found and would be behind the bar for me to pick up on Sunday Morning. I went to Thomas Street Tavern twice on Sunday, and the man who assured me that the phone was there looked everywhere for the phone he had put behind the bar, it was gone, as the girl behind the bar had done earlier when I was there the first time.l..since only employees are allowed behind the bar it would only make sense that one of the employees stole my phone.

Ping Pong and Lots of Beers to Choose From. This is one of my favorite bars in Charlotte. The food is not the greatest, but it is not bad. They have a wide selection of beers. They have everything from imports to Old Milwaukee and Schlitz in cans. The patio is the best part of the place. It is very large, and they have two ping pong tables. The place is packed on Friday and Saturday nights. The area can be kind of scary at night. Females should have someone escort them to their cars. You will see all kinds of people in this place. Young, old, rich, poor, they are all here. It is a great place to hang out and have fun with friends.

If you need a self esteem boost go here. If you vote republican or have a problem with hobo's this isn't your bar. A friendly neighborhood bar with your usual cast of characters of vagrants, old guys, and pseudohipsters. Prices are fair, menu ok, no pitcher drinks. It will vary every visit on how much alcohol they actually put in your drink, but if you look in the right direction you may not need much to drink. I've met three boyfriends there. They were all just alike. They each loved Phish, owned a bong from Thailand, have a German ex-girlfriend, and most of the dates included listening to them strum the guitar, cuddling over the simpsons, and talking about how messed up our system is........ basically.......they were broke.

Best crowd mix!. What a great find in the commonwealth area. Complete mix of all types of people. Good simply bar food -- and they have outdoor space with ping-pong!

Location plus menu plus beer selection equals everyone's favorite neighborhood tavern.. In Short
The owners realize that it's really on Thomas Avenue, but the name just didn't have the same ring, so they switched it around. Luckily for residents of the Plaza-Midwood area, they didn't tamper with the great bar equation too much. Stockyard workers are just as likely as stockbrokers to sidle up to the sleek, curved bar. For patrons in the mood for a little activity, there's always foosball or the pool table.

I love this place!. Everytime I go there I have a great time! The back patio is the best kept secret in Charlotte.
