Editorial Review for Thomas Street Tavern – by Zach Hanner
In Short
The owners realize that it's really on Thomas Avenue, but the name just didn't have the same ring, so they switched it around. Luckily for residents of the Plaza-Midwood area, they didn't tamper with the great bar equation too much. Stockyard workers are just as likely as stockbrokers to sidle up to the sleek, curved bar. For patrons in the mood for a little activity, there's always foosball or the pool table.

This is one of my favorite bars in Charlotte. The food is not the greatest, but it is not bad. They have a wide selection of beers. They have everything from imports to Old Milwaukee and Schlitz in cans. The patio is the best part of the place. It is very large, and they have two ping pong tables. The place is packed on Friday and Saturday nights. The area can be kind of scary at night. Females should have someone escort them to their cars. You will see all kinds of people in this place. Young, old, rich, poor, they are all here. It is a great place to hang out and have fun with friends.
Pros: Ping Pong
Cons: Area is Scary at Night

If you vote republican or have a problem with hobo's this isn't your bar. A friendly neighborhood bar with your usual cast of characters of vagrants, old guys, and pseudohipsters. Prices are fair, menu ok, no pitcher drinks. It will vary every visit on how much alcohol they actually put in your drink, but if you look in the right direction you may not need much to drink. I've met three boyfriends there. They were all just alike. They each loved Phish, owned a bong from Thailand, have a German ex-girlfriend, and most of the dates included listening to them strum the guitar, cuddling over the simpsons, and talking about how messed up our system is........ basically.......they were broke.
Pros: Will run into some interesting and strange people
Cons: Will run into some interesting and strange people
