The Subway of takeout pizza joints embraces fresh ingredients and store-made crusts..
In Short
These bright white storefronts are accented with green and red details and photos of the chain's boyish founder. The simple menu focuses on standard pies and chicken-centric specialty pizzas--the Hawaiian BBQ, BBQ chicken, and bacon and chicken club--each topped with fresh ingredients like baby portobello mushrooms and roma tomatoes. A selection of sides includes bread sticks, cheese sticks, chicken strips and a handful of dipping sauces.
Papa John's. Papa John's used to be one of the most reliable, good pizzas around. Our Papa John's here in Mooresville has become a total disappointment. I finally gave up after the pizzas started arriving without any sauce within an inch of the crust, sparce toppings, etc etc. A real shame, because it USED TO BE great. The counter help act like machines and no matter the suggestion, nothing changed. It got so bad I considered trying to email the company online...then a found a great pizza here. I notice Papa John's doesn't deliver near as many pizzas to my neighborhood so I assume other people have found similar siutuations here.
Great value for money. These guys use fresh ingredients. I love the thin crust and garlic sauce. And they're really great with customer service. They once messed up my order and sent me a pizza I couldn't eat, and I not only got a quick replacement but also credit for a free pizza.
who's your daddy?. papa johns has the greatest pizza everi,t beats pizza hut , dominos and all the other
Better than most dine in places. Papa John's is consistent and they don't skimp on the sauce. I have noticed so many places barely put any sauce on their pizzas. There are 3 main ingredients we need here: 1)the dough, 2)the sauce, and 3)the cheese. Without a good balance, you won't have a good pie. This place has all 3 down and it's tastier than most "upscale" pizzerias.
Fast Food Trash. No way is this doughy undercook slop better than Amalfi's!
Are you kidding me!. I know i'm not in NYC anymore. But to put fast food pizzerias on this list is just wrong and a marketing tool not too mention a lack of research. I have found a bunch of good pizzerias in charlotte and let me tell you they are not fast food. want to try good pizza (taste just like NY pizza) try LaRoma on highway 49 just east of university area.
Dominos Rulz!. I am a former employee of both Papa Johns and Dominos, and our family always prefers to order from Dominos.
WANGY SAUCE. I PREFER A SIMPLE TOMATO AND SPICE PIZZA SAUCE. HANDS DOWN PIZZA HUT HAS A BETTER TASTING PIZZA SAUCE THAN PAPA JOHNS.
Saucy and Sassy. Papa Johns has the best Pizza I have tasted. They deliver in a timely manner and are always friendly. If they do ever get skimpy with the toppings, I just tell them about it and my next Pizza is FANTASTIC!
