What People Are Saying About Picasso's Sports Cafe

In Short – Picasso's place is bright, but that doesn't seem to deter the regulars. The ambience is largely created by a wall-size TV that--no joke--can be seen from the line at the Blockbuster Video across the street. The menu includes traditional American fare such as hot wings dubbed Lucifer's Own, comforting cheese fries (served with ranch dressing) salads, subs, burgers and 10 kinds of pizzas.
Great Wings

The first time I went to Picasso's I fell in love with their wings. The Service is great, Fav spot in Clt for me to watch sports.
- Pros: Foods and Service
Quite Possibly the Best Chicken Wings in Charlotte, and a heck of a deal
by sh21
Being from the north, chicken wings are something that I have grown up eating. Moving down here to Charlotte, it was quite some time before I stumbled into this place and found a good chicken wing. They have more than the usual hot or mild flavors and most of the flavors are pretty good. Good sized wings, not fatty, and cooked to your liking. On Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 5-830 or so, they have 1/2 off wings, where you get a dozen for 4 bucks...cant get any better than that. Great place, service is kind of slow sometimes, but all worth it. On any sporting night, suggest getting there early to get a table.
- Pros: Good Wings, Pizza
- Cons: Parking, Food Slow to Come Out Sometimes
Not the worst place I've ever been.

Ok.
Let me start off by saying that I don't live in Charlotte.
I'm stuck here for work for the next month.
I've been looking for a place to hang out with good food, good beer and pretty girls.
This was not it.
My food was not terrible. The Cajun Burger had absolutely no business being called that. It's a disgrace to people from Louisiana. The Bacon-Cheese Fries are actually pretty good.
I am a bit of a beer snob and was sad to learn that of the few beers they normally carried, the kegs were mostly tapped. We were forced into a drink special of $12 buckets of domestic beer. I'm sorry, but Bud Select tastes like horse urine. Why can't Yuengling or Sam Adams count as domestic? They are brewed in America!!! Honestly, that's not Picasso's fault.....that's simply a digression.
My server was very nice and sadly very busy. It was a Saturday night and they had one bartender and one server for the whole place. Granted, when I got there, I was one of seven people but the night steadily grew and grew. As I was leaving, I kinda felt bad for her and went back to leave her an extra couple of bucks.....but she had already picked up the check and a couple had occupied the table.
My other problem was entirely superficial.
There were no cute girls in the entire place. It was a sausage fest. It's a shame that I have to include this in my rating/review of Picasso's, but I feel that atmosphere is unbelievably important. No cute girls = not a good atmosphere. I mean, even when I'm enthralled by a few basketball games going down to the wire simultaneously, I still can enjoy shooting coy glances in the direction of a pretty girl who wants absolutely nothing to do with me, right?
Also, parking is a pain in the [insert word that CitySearch won't let my type here].
- Pros: Food + Beer + Sports is not a bad equation.
- Cons: Atmosphere

Parking is a problem sometimes. Keep your eyes peeled for spots on the street or in adjacent lots.
