Best Sushi Anywhere. I have had sushi in countries all over the world and nothing compares to NIKKO. At Nikko they have freash sushi prepared in new flavors and ways that not only is it excellent to eat but a piece of art to see. Many friends from all over the US who visit me in Charlotte ask for Nikko as the first restaurant to go. It is a fun, loud atmosphere which is what many of us want. To be in heaven, get Dynamite Cracker, Sexy Salmon, Dancing Queen, Volcano Roll and the Lobster Roll. You will not get these delicacies at any other place.

Average. If you're looking for a place before going out this is the place for you. It's is extremely loud after 9pm, to the point where you are yelling at each other to get your thoughts across. The service is not bad when you can spot your waiter. The menu is a bit pricey compared to other restaurants, I'd assume you're paying a little extra just to be seen.

Best Sushi in Charlotte. I lived in Charlotte for 4 years, and even with all the growth and new restaurants Nikko is a staple that anyone visiting Charlotte should check out.

You can't go wrong with any of the rolls. My personal favorites are the Trust Me II Roll, the Rainbow Roll, and the Bagel Deluxe Roll.

The scene is high energy on the weekends with the owner walking around shaking a tambourine, and club music playing while you dine. During the week it is low key, with a great patio to dine on.

How they think Japanese food should be. As an avid Asian food fan, Japanese especially - we were really looking forward to this restaurant.

The music was a little loud for our liking - but it suited the atmosphere, so that is just a personal choice. The service was quite quick and friendly, though this could have been due to it being a slow night.

But the food - Miso soup no complaints. Goza - there was no dipping sauces to go with this ..... But the sushi platter was a different story. The sushi rice was dry and the fish was a little dry on the top - suggesting that this had not been made fresh. The ginger was so old and tasteless that it was merely for decoration.

Overall - perhaps if you have never eaten Japanese, then you might like it here, however for those among us that actually know what good Sushi is like - then avoid eating here. Perhaps try their 'other Japanese style' dishes - though I wish you the best of luck with this.

Great food but disappointing service. My husband and I love to eat sushi and we were so looking forward to come to this place after my friends told me about Nikko. Yes, sushi was excellent and the presentation was amazing and we enjoyed our food, but horrible service erased all the good things about this restaurant. Our servers never refilled our drinks unless we asked them to and he was never around. then went I was going to the bathroom, I saw one of the workers eating his food right next to the place where sushi was coming out. GROSS!!! I thought it was very unprofessional and he was probably one of the managers or something. I worked at restaurants before but I have never seen such behavior. It's too bad because I love the food and we would love to come back but with that type of service we probably wouldn't.

Don't waste you're money. Well I went here for my birthday after hearing so much about how wonderful this 5 star restaurant was.

First issue I had, I called to make my own reservations and the music was so loud the hostess could not hear me. When I got them on the phone she said to me "You're phone is messed up I can't hear you" and hung up me, so I called again then she said "I can't hear you" and hung up on me AGAIN. So I had a friend with four bars on her phone call and the same issue happened. The music was absolutely too loud.

Now when we got there, there were no reservations for us so I asked to speak to the manager and told her that I had called multiple times as did my friends and we were all hung up on. She did seat us right away which made up for a little bit. Then it took 25 mins to get our drinks and orders, another 45 for the food that was not even worth my time. I told them it was my birthday and was told I would get a nice desert which never came. The waitress ignored us unless we put called her to the table.

Horrible.

Disappointment. Went to Nikko's after having heard about it for so long, and I can't hide my disappointment. The restaurant is cool with a great design, in a nice neighborhood, and the ambiance is fun. However, the food is just plain average. Uninspired, sauces were store bought quality. Not a place to go for sushi connaisseurs.

Greatest sushi in Charlotte. I recently visited Nikko on South Blvd about 2 Weeks ago, and I must say it was amazing. We had a reservation for 6 on a Friday night. When we arrived we were promptly sat in a round booth in the middle of the restaurant. Our server was great, the food was outstanding, and overall our experience was very pleasant. We tried the tuna crunchy roll at our server's suggestion, and it was incredibly delicious. I will tell all of my friends about this place, and I will definitely be back.

P.S. Order the Saki Bombs, You wont forget it!
