I went there on a Friday night. First thing that struck me was that I couldnt really find the place on Bland Street and I drove around the whole block and realized it was adjacent to Greek Isles but I couldn't park there, so I drove back unto Tryon and went another street down where I found their parking, only to find that I had to walk all the way down back to where Greek Isles was since the only entrance on Jillian's was on that side - that whole thing was a bit odd.
As I walked inside I was greeted with a $5 cover charge. Didn't have cash on me so I swiped my credit card. Then I went to the bar to wait for my friend to arrive. I waited at least 10 minutes before the bartender approached me to take my order, but she was nice about taking my order. Meanwhile I tried to see what basketball game was on and realized that all the TV screens behind the bar were blurry and faded and were probably bought in the late 90s. You know, they are large projection screens which lose brightness through the years. When she brought me the beer said that will be $4.50 as she awaited payment, which I found rather strange as I am used to the bartenders asking me whether I want to start a tab when they bring my first beer, anyways, I swiped my card again. Then my friend arrived and we went to play pool. There were plenty pool tables, they were slightly worn and the one we were on was too close to the wall and chairs making most shots on that side difficult (not something you usually encounter at a place with plenty pool tables but rather in small bars). Most of the cue sticks were either chipped or warped. The place was very empty. Our waitress then took care of our drink order and appetizer. The food was just OK. The bathrooms were very dirty and two toilets were broken, one wrapped in a black garbage bag and the other was just gushing all over the place. Then the DJ started blasting some music in the empty hall. As I looked around I saw more smaller, old TVs all over, all blurry. When we were done, I closed my tab with my waitress, swiped my card, then proceeded to return the poolballs and have my card swiped again to pay for that. After 5 card swipes, including cover charges for two, 4 beers, 1 appetizer and a pool table for 3 hours + tips I spent around $80. This place looks like an old abandoned locale, there is no interest in ownership to renovate or replace anything as evidenced by the outdated TVs and even cue sticks. I did not bother to visit any other area or play any other games, but the place looked very empty. I am pretty sure this place won't be around that much longer. Do not plan on going back.
Never again.... What a waste - took the family here on Valentine's day to play some games and have some fun - half the games were broken...At least they were turned off so you didn't waste your time trying to play. However, several were just malfunctioning and we had to get points put back on our card due to that...Even the nascar racing game - 2 of the cars weren't working...I waited forever at the bar to get sodas - at $2.50 each - mostly everything was ice. The people weren't very friendly and the bathrooms were poorly stocked. I will never waste my money again! We had a hard time using up all of our credits - as there was nothing to play...
Great. My wife and kids went to jillians as we usually go to Dave and Busters, wow is all I can say, great service and food, even though the games were older the good old games of skee ball as well as basketball were still there, Great time by the whole family,
Ugghh!. While visiting the city of Charlotte my date and I went to Jillians to watch a fight the T.V.'s were so small we had to crowd around the bar to squint and see there was a 10 dollar cover my drink was weak the food was bland. The bar policy was to pay IMMEDIATELY after he put the drink down in front of you and he waited so if you ordered multiple drinks you had to keep swiping your card. NEVER AGAIN !
Cover charge for poor service and food.
It had been over 10 years since I went to Jillian;s My husband and I were looking forward to a good time.
We were met at the entrance by the host that told us it was a $3 cover charge. We paid and were told to find
a seat any where you can. It was crowded. We finally found a table that was dirty and waited for
it to be cleaned . The server was slow and apologetic. No silver ware, no water, no playing cards we paid for...
it was terrible!!It used to be a great date place but now it is a rip off and an insult to patrons...or maybe it is the patrons they are trying to
get rid of because they were about 75 to 85% black on that Sat. night. This is one black souple that won't be back.
Terrible Food, Bad Service, Poor Game Selection. I wasn't expecting the food at Jillian's to be outstanding and it is just mediocre at best, but the service was poor and they have very few games. I thought it would be comparable to the Dave & Buster's in Concord Mills which used to be Jillian's, but there are far fewer games here and it seems they haven't updated their games in some time. There is no prize redemption here either (games with tickets). Everything is really overpriced--it costs almost $2 to play air hockey. Service at the bar was okay but after a malfunction with a game card, another staff member was rude to us with the manager standing right there and he said nothing. I don't think they care very much about their customers here. I would definitely not go back.
Terrible service, food and attitude!.
And overall poor excuse for service and food.
The atmosphere is OK, but the service was terrible!
Terrible Service and Food. We had terrible service, terrible food and an all around terrible time at this restaurant. Skip it!
Big-screen TVs, video games and a hibachi grill: It's a playground for grownups..
Two walls of big-screen televisions show as many games as two eyeballs can possibly watch. Overstuffed leather chairs and sofas allow spectators to concentrate on the game in comfort. The menu is a step up from the usual sports-bar standard. Across a little hallway, you can catch a culinary show at one of the Japanese-grill-style tables, where the cook slices, dices and juliennes your dinner while you applaud wildly. That hallway opens up into another room with about a dozen quality, full-size pool tables, pingpong tables and more televisions.
If you get tired of the game, turn your attention to the video screen. The cavernous game room houses everything from virtual-reality skiing and whitewater rafting to electronic golf, football and shoot-'em-up games. If you enjoyed Chuck E. Cheese as a child, you'll love this action.
Hibachi and Football. We all go to Jillian's for Sat. & Sun. football but the Hibachi grill is out of this world! It's unlike any other Japanese Rest. It's got silly hats pumping music and club lights. The Chefs are hilarious and you are forced to have a ball. Also on Sundays they have "the best seat in the house" that you can win for your group of fans...3 leather couches and a big screen..it's like home with your own personal server!!!!
