A great place to spend the afternoon drinking beer.. The Skinny
The Gin Mill benefits from a good location in South End along the trolley tracks, but it suffers from a lack of visibility. You'll find it behind Jillian's at the corner of Tryon and Bland, at the back of the building it shares with The Brewing Experience. The staff is friendly and the place has plenty of room for sitting or standing, but the Gin Mill's best feature may be the small deck outside. It doesn't hold many people, and it's stuck against the back of Jillian's, but it's well shaded and has a great view of the Uptown skyline. Fritter away a couple of afternoons drinking beer and watching the shadows shift across the Center City and consider it time well spent.
