In Short
The towering "Tank 5" beer vat standing alongside this warehouse-turned-hip-restaurant is a beacon for the revitalized industrial neighborhood just south of Uptown. Pizzas are made with a Scarlet Ale crust and the enormous ribs are slathered with a house barbecue sauce. But one cannot forget the brews. The darker chocolate and oatmeal stouts are excellent, but the Carolina Blonde is the most popular. The long bar stays crowded on weekends and football game days.

Plan on waiting atleast 20 minutes for your drinks and even longer for your food. The service is terrible & the food isn't much better. An extremely disappointing visit.
Cons: bad service, slow, bad food

I've frequented Southend Brewery & Smokehouse over the last couple of years and I've always loved their pork tenderloin with grits! I've had other menu items which were good, but the tenderloin is simply the best. The beer is fantastic too, especially the wheat. I take my growler for a refill at least once week.
