Perfectly seasoned, cooked fried chicken. This place is as no-frills as it gets. Cash only, no seating, cinder-block walls. But that's OK--it's about the chicken. And that chicken is phenomenal. Perfectly seasoned, and perfectly cooked. Even the white-meat chicken, which at most places is dried out and bland, was juicy and flavorful. I was quite impressed. The sides are nothing to write home about, but are adequate, and since the focus is so solidly on the chicken, who cares? Very, very good chicken.
UMMMMMMMMMMMMMM Just down right good!!!!!!!!.
The best fried chicken in town..... I was impressed. The livers and gizzards are the best part of it.
However don't expect fancy it is a litltle take out food place with no tables and very long lines.
This is the best chicken anywhere!!!!!!. Sure, it is not in a so great location, sure it is really small and cramped, sure the parking sometimes is not so desirable..but let me tell you...the food here is the best!!!....my only complaint..is they need to have one closer to the Pineville N.C. area...
Needs some spice. This place consistenly ranks as the most popular fried chicken place in Charlotte, and I can see why. The meat is very moist, the skin and crust are crispy. Overall, the chicken is good from a technical perspective. But what it lacks is spice. There's no flavor! The problem is, I haven't been anywhere in Charlotte that has fried chicken with flavor! If anyone knows a place that has spice, please let everyone know. It's the best in Charlotte, but if you've had fried chicken outside of Charlotte, you'll know what I mean.
Southern Food & Character that shouldn't be missed.
Price's has been a fixture for Charlotte's in the know for great food for years and it looks like the rest of the world has finally discovered this gem. I heard them reviewed on the "Road Food" section of NPR's "Spledid Table".
When you visit Charlotte and you want to see part of the real "Southern" character of Charlotte you really have to find Price's. It definately isn't fancy, but the food is great and you will see a true cross section of Charlotte there from "Beggars to Businessmen".
The best fried chicken in town, and a draw for people of every race, social class and background..
In Short
Ten minutes after noon, patrons find a good kind of chaos when coming for chicken. Customers find a good place to wait among the bustling crowd the couple of minutes until their order is boxed and bagged. Price's has been selling fried chicken to every social class for decades. It's takeout-only, always hot, always greasy, always moist, and really, really good.
Overrated. I have heard about this place for years and was disappointed. The chicken is decent, but you do not have a choice of your side items, which were bland and overcooked.
Best fried chicken in the country. I have traveled the U.S. for many years and have eaten fried chicken in a lot of cities. Prices Chicken Coup has the best fried chicken in the U.S.
th' COOP Rules the ROOST!. This place is a greasy little dump of a restaurant, but THE BEST Charlotte has to offer. If you think I am kidding, just try and park within 2 blocks of the place during the week. This is the BEST bird in the Queen City! Make you wanna burn down a KFC!
I wish it was here!.
I have enjoyed the chicken there for decades. When I lived in Charlotte and when I pass through even now I try to get by at least once.
That is the way fried chicken is suppose to taste!
That says it all...
