Cosmos Cafe

Awful Service. I have lived in Charlotte almost my whole life and Cosmos really did start out great. Unfortunately I've given them about 4 chances in the past year and every time I have been more disappointed than the last. The service is beyond awful there and the manager could really care less and that is something that is very apparent to any diner. We were sitting there at a table and they actually removed every single table from around us so we were the only one there...so awkward and really just odd. They were making a dance floor for later but the entire restaurant was empty so why they chose to seat us there I don't know. Every time I've gone I've had to wait at least 45 min for my food and it just isn't worth it. This place may be good for drinks but definitely not for dinner.…

Don't bother. No seriously. Don't.. My family and I had tickets to a show at 8pm. We were meeting friends before the show and had to be out of the restaurant by 7:15. We were excited because we usually had tickets to shows on Sunday nights when Cosmos was closed. This was the last show in our season package and they were for Saturday night which meant that we could finally dine at Cosmos beforehand. I was really looking forward to having a cocktail off their extensive cocktail menu. We arrived at 5:40 and were greeted at the door by the hostess and a waitperson. We were seated immediately and given menus by the hostess. We looked at the menus and decided what we would order. And then we sat. And sat. And sat. I said "Lets close our menus to signify that we're ready." Several members of the waitstaff walk passed our table several times. No one came over to take a drink order or to check on us. I saw a group of about 4-5 waitresses congregating in the back near the kitchen which was 7 feet from our table. There was one other table with patrons so I don't know what the hold up was. At this point, I got a bad feeling about the place. If the kitchen staff was as slow as the waitstaff, we wouldn't get out on time. At 6:05 we decided to leave. The hostess simply said "Bye! Have a good night!" We went down the street to Libretto's where we were seated promptly and the waitress came over within minutes. We ordered, ate and were out the door by 7:15 and I spent half the amount of money too.

Cosmos should stop advertising that it's a "Cafe", implying that it's a restaurant. I'm only guessing but I think it caters more to the bar patrons that come later in the evening. It's not really a destination if you're looking to have a dinner with the family. If you're looking for the latter, go somewhere else.

I'm giving it one star only because the review wouldn't go thru without some kind of rating. If I could give it none, I would.…

Would not recommend to others. Went here last Wednesday with some friends (Rea Rd location) and had an overall poor experience. First we got some drinks at the bar and had trouble hearing each other because the interior was so loud and echoing. Not a huge fan of the decor, which I think was trying to be cool and edgy but just ended up being kind of bizarre. Ex, there was this weird ballooney red fabric thing dangling down from the ceiling over the bar… I felt like I was about to be sucked up inside of an alien machine from War of the Worlds. Probably not the feel they were going for.

Despite our misgivings we decided to stay for dinner. The food was extremely mediocre (which is saying something because as a college student living mainly on easy mac I'm not a choosy eater by any means), the one thing that will really stick with me was the service, which was very slow and our server was abrupt to the point of being rude. Would not recommend this place to others.…

COSMOS CAFE .... worst waitress we've ever had. My friends and I went to Cosmos for first time for latin night on thursday, "The server".. I'm sorry.. the order taker...took our order and for the second round of drinks, we asked her politely if the beers could be coulder. Her answer was:

Servers don't have control over it, there is nothing I can do about it. That is the bartender job, she was reaaly rude and offensive, every time she would pass by our table, she would give us a dirty look.

That woman doesn't deserve to be part of the hospitality industry, she should be fired.

The manager was polite, but didn't really give us a satisfactory answer to the issue.

If you ever go to that place ask for another server, before you ruin your night.…
