There are better places in Charlotte for lunch.... Food is good, don't get me wrong but if you want to be served by rude person at the cash register this is right place for you. Choice is yours.

Good experience, Great Service, Huge burrito, Good Quality overall. I spent around 7.50 or 8.00 for a massively loaded chicken burrito and coke. The guy behind the counter (maybe it was Johnny himself?) was really nice and explained how to order and recommended certain items to put in my burrito. There were several different types of salsa and 10+ different types of mild to hot sauces available on the side or to be placed in the burrito. The guy behind the counter recommended a chipotle sauce that was really good, I think they make it themselves. Anyway, the burrito was huge and I can't believe they were able to wrap it. There is a faxable form on their website that will save you waiting in line so the food can be had rather quickly. As for the burrito itself, very good with fresh ingredients.I tried Phat Burrito the previous day and I'd have to say JB beats out Phat burrito in terms of quantity and quality of food, specifically JB was more flavorful and had fresher ingredients. The burrito I received still could have used a little more spice to it, next time I'll get the sauce inside the burrito and I think it would be a perfect blend out the door. I really felt welcome there, and around 1:30 or 2:00 I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. Lastly, I typically think of burritos as being extremely messy and getting all over my tie and shirt but this burrito was so well wrapped that I didn't have to worry about it. Good experience overall.

Mixed Feelings. First of all, I agree that you get a ton of food, and that it is good. However, I've eaten at JB and also at Salsarita's downtown, and while the flavor at JB is good, it doesn't always taste quite as fresh. And I do agree that the owner can be pretty rude if you don't play exactly by his rules. When you do, he is very friendly. When you don't, he comes close to turning into the "soup-nazi" from Seinfeld (if you don't watch Seinfeld, don't worry...it's not really as bad as it sounds).

Overall, I say the service is mediocre, the food is good but not great, but you will be full in the end!

Rude Owner. I have never had the owner of an establishment act so rudely towards someone who wants to use debit cards to pay for their lunch. Hey, Johnny Burrito, if you don't want customers to use debit/credit, why don't you switch to cash only? I've been going to his place religiously ever since they first opened. No more.

Fresh ingredients and efficient service make this Uptown burrito shop a must-visit.. The Scene
Rush, rush, rush. Eat, eat, eat. Lunch hour is never long enough--unless you go to Johnny Burrito. Place your order at the counter, and someone will make it for you quickly and efficiently, right in front of your eyes. You'll be on your way in minutes. A nifty twist: These folks don't mess around with change. They round the prices up or down, so it's easier to split the cost with a friend.

The Food

All burritos and salads include your choice of rice, black beans and hot/cold fillings: vegetables, cheese, lettuce, black olives, jalapenos, habanero salsa, guacamole and more. Meats include marinated and char-grilled chicken and steak, spicy ground beef and a weekly special. Chips, salsa, rice, beans and veggies star as side dishes. A good choice is the special spicy brisket burrito with plenty of fresh cilantro.
