Good sandwichs. I personally like the Ruben. The food is usually pretty good. They have drink specials if you drink. They have "Panther" parties after games. Expect to see lesbians and party with them if the football is playing. I find most of the staff rude and not will to go the extra yard for service. No lets keep it real..all the staff. Unless you know them personally and you get an all access pass to being served first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Owner might notice one day.
Okay service.. horrible nachos!. I went to Hartigan's to have dinner and a few drinks. I walked in and got service, but was not greeted and didn't feel very welcome. I ordered some drinks and nachos. I could've made these nachos at home and could've done a better job. The nachos consisted of chips.. that were stale, jalapenos, black olives, melted cheese, cheese dip.. from a nacho cheese machine, sour cream, and salsa. The silver ware was plastic and the plates were disposable as well. It was okay for drinking in, but not to have dinner.
Charlotte's best kept secret. Hartigans is one of my top gay/lesbian hangouts in Charlotte. I love the down to earth staff and the overall friendly vibe I feel when I walk in. People from all walks of life can be found at Hartigans. Mostly a lesbian crowd, but plenty of guys to be found. On Panthers game nights, there's a nice straight/gay mix, and everyone gets along just fine. There aren't many gay/lesbian entertainment venues in Charlotte that provide the same level of comfort and enjoyment as Hartigans.
A well-kept secret, despite the great atmosphere and a good location..
In Short
First Ward has Dixie's Tavern, Fourth Ward has Alexander Michael's, and Third Ward has Hartigan's Irish Pub. Spacious and casual, the place has a cozy, no-fuss bar at the front, and dartboards and pool tables to keep you busy in the back and downstairs; a menu of bar food staples is available throughout. Sitting in the shadow of Ericsson Stadium, it's often packed on football Sundays; though LGBT-owned and -operated, the crowd is thoroughly mixed.
