Needed a top notch ambiance for a special evening and MORTONS's lived up to all the hype!!! Great menu and reasonable for the occasion and the service was stupendous!!! There was never a moment when our glasses stayed empty and our server had more than enough tables to tend to. Very impressive!! Thanks agaon Mortons for a great evening
I have only had the pleasure of eating at Mortons 2 times and both experiences were phenomenal. Both meals consisted of filet mignon and crabcakes and it was absolutely the best steak I have ever tasted. The meals are a little pricey, but I would not hesitate to go back.
High-end Steakhouse without Stiff Ambiance.
Had dinner this past weekend at Mortons steakhouse uptown and it was a real treat. I have never been to Mortons, just always passed it up for Ruth's Chris, Capital Grille, Flemings or one of the other high-end-esque steakhouses in the area. I am glad I finally gave it a go.
Upon entering, you forget where you are, it exudes perfection but somehow its a very comforting feeling rather than a stuck up atmosphere which seem common in these types of establishments.
We ordered from the PrixFixe menu that they had for the evening which was an amazing deal and plenty of food. It was $100 for two people and was well worth it. First you started off with a salad; there were 6 to chose from. I had the Morton's Wedge, which was HUGE and fresh. Then you had the choice of 8oz filet, salmon or chicken. You could upgrade for a small fee of for a double sized filet (14oz), Ahi Tuna, Ribeye, Porterhouse, NY Strip, Crab Legs. Along with your entree choice you received an accompaniment of either Bacon Wrapped Sea Scallops, Maryland Crab Cake, or Shrimp Alexander. I chose the Scallops which were cooked perfectly. You also got to chose which side you wanted with each person able to chose a side. I selected the Garlic-Butter Mashed Potatoes which were fantastic. Finally you had the option to chose from a few desserts, I wished to have Creme Brulee but it was not an option for the prix fixe, the waiter simply said I can make that happen for you and there was no charge for the change.
Overall, one of the best dining experiences I have had in a long time. Waiter was great although a little quirky at times, food was amazing, wine selection was diverse and had something suited for everyone. If you really want to treat yourself to a night out either with friends, colleagues or a loved-one, this is the place to do so. Unfortunate it's taken me this long to figure that out!
Don't Bother. My wife and I went to Morton's with an out of town guest who had never been to Morton's before. Things started out fine, the food was good, but it went down hill after the entree was served. Our waiter disappeared. It took forever to clear our table while our waiter was clearing the table next to us that wasn't even his table. Don't waste your time. There are better places to get a steak.
Consistently great food, service..
Me and my wife have been going to the Morton's in uptown Charlotte for a number of years now. Whether it's to celebrate a special occasion, or if we are just in the mood for a great steak, Morton's is our go-to place. The food is always savory--my wife gets the Filet Oscar and I always start with the Shrimp Alexander followed by the Chicago-style ribeye. We have been waited on by many servers, Meghan, Amy, Kevin, all of which have mastered the art of being attentive, yet not annoying.
We went in last Saturday to celebrate my wife's job promotion, and I was excited to see that the place was jumping with people--glad we made a reservation! Our server was great as usual, very knowledgeable about the menu although less high-spirited than some of the other servers I've had. The only downside of the night, I have never dealt with at Morton's before. There was a guy in plainclothes that was kind of making laps around all the tables and he looked like he was just ready to explode on someone the whole night. It made my wife and I a little uncomfortable so we asked our server if he knew who the guy was. Turns out it is the area manager for the Morton's chain who isn't usually in the restaurant. I don't know what he was so angry about--it seemed like everyone dining there was having a great time, but the waiters were all noticeably on edge and when he came by, multiple times, I guess maybe to try and find something wrong, he was nice, but to the point where it was not very believable or professional given his general demeanor. Besides that, a great evening as usual. i would definitely recommend the uptown location of Morton's to anyone willing to dish about a bit extra cash for good service and delicious food.
Morton's Is in SouthPark. I heard there was a Morton's in SouthPark but didn't really know where it was located until now. I drove past it while I was at SouthPark mall and decided to have dinner with my friend. It was the best steak I have ever had!! The service was beyond excellent and the people were so friendly. The prices are high but well worth treating myself to from time to time. They have a Steak and Seafood special now for $99.00 for 2 people, 4 course dinner... it was wonderful and anyone can have it. I also loved the $5.00 bar bites that are offered during happy hour. Glad I finally found the Morton's in SouthPark- Great steaks and it is so much closer to me.
USDA prime beef, elegant tableside service and mammoth martinis..
In Short
With its dark wood details, celebrity photos and tuxedo-clad waiters, this upscale steakhouse chain has the air of a posh men's club. Service is professional and discreet, with bartenders making a mean martini. Dinners begin with a waiter-driven cart laden with fresh vegetables, live lobster and cuts of steak; customers choose from porterhouse, rib-eye, bone-in prime rib and more. Side dishes are traditional and enormous, from baked potatoes and creamed spinach to steamed broccoli with hollandaise.
Always great.
I have been to Morton's all over the country, from San Diego to Charlotte. Morton's has been a family tradition as a place to go for special occasions, or just a nice night on the town. Out of the scores of times I've been, never once have I had a bad meal there. The steaks are perfection; the salads are huge; the sides are a necessity; the wait staff are always attentive and polite.
In Charlotte, definitely go to the location uptown because the atmosphere is much nicer than the South Park location. Plus, its not as crowded. The only downside to the uptown location is sometimes it can get a bit chilly in there, so bring a sweater.
