The Scene
At the South End location, the "sardine" problem is bad anywhere in the building, but the Matthews location is bigger, so it's a little easier to move around in. Except for a few minor points, that's the only difference between the two bars. Matthews is newer and bigger, with more tables to sit at, and South End is a little more run down but has a better patio.
The Food
Ball caps, t-shirts, oysters, crab legs, and dollar beers are what you'll find at both places, though you're more likely to see a family or two in Matthews. And if you go to the Matthews location, don't park at the bank next door, or you'll have to give $80 to the tow-truck operator that trolls the parking lot.

Very busy, very noisy, customers standing around the bar cursing loudly. This used to be a great place to get a bucket of seafood and have drink or two. Now the food is marginal and the atmosphere is crude, service slow. Will not go back.

Well, they have allot of things I like that I will stop by on the way home (take out) and surprise my wife with like Oyster Po Boys, and key lime pie, BUT my all time favorite is their ALL YOU CAN EAT CRAB LEGS!!! Admittedly it is to fill you up (instead of with crab leg$! ha ha) but they give you a great salad while you wait (included) and lots of good veggies like small roasted potatoes and such (plump hush puppies) but as I said the main thing is the killer crab leg clusters. They are served with butter of course but my favorite dipping sauce is their pepper sauce which is also fantastic on the little roasted potatoes. Wish they had a coupon once and awhile but I ALWAYS get my monies worth and the service is almost always excellent. Smoke can get a "lil ruff" and when it is crowded the heat gets somewhat uncomfortable but I have found getting there right at 5PM when the crab leg special starts solves those minor issues and all the daily beer specials even makes it better.

This restaurant is always jammed packed like its other locations; however, the atmosphere is not the same. Level of service and quality of food is not the same as other locations either.
